2And he sentוַ֠יִּשְׁלַחVai.yish.lachH7971Eliakimאֶלְיָקִ֨ים'el.ya.KimH471, which wasover the householdהַבַּ֜יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,and Shebnaוְשֶׁבְנָ֣אve.shev.Na'H7644the scribeהַסֹּפֵ֗רha.so.FerH5608,and the eldersזִקְנֵ֣יzik.NeiH2205of the priestsהַכֹּֽהֲנִ֔יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548,coveredמִתְכַּסִּ֖יםmit.ka.SimH3680with sackclothבַּשַּׂקִּ֑יםba.sa.KimH8242,to Isaiahיְשַֽׁעְיָ֥הוּye.sha'.Ya.huH3470the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Amozאָמֽוֹץ׃'a.MotzH531.

3And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto him, Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396,This dayיוֹם־yom-H3117isa dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117of troubleצָרָ֧הtza.RahH6869,and of rebukeוְתוֹכֵחָ֛הve.to.khe.ChahH8433,and blasphemyוּנְאָצָ֖הu.ne.'a.TzahH5007:for the childrenבָנִים֙va.NimH1121are comeבָ֤אוּVa.'uH935to the birthמַשְׁבֵּ֔רmash.BerH4866, and there isnot strengthוְכֹ֥חַve.Kho.achH3581to bring forthלְלֵדָֽה׃le.le.DahH3205.

5So the servantsעַבְדֵ֛י'av.DeiH5650of kingהַמֶּ֥לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396cameוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Isaiahיְשַֽׁעַיָֽהוּ׃ye.Sha.'a.Ya.huH3470.

6And Isaiahיְשַֽׁעְיָ֔הוּye.sha'.Ya.huH3470saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Thus shall ye sayתֹאמְר֖וּןtom.RunH559to your masterאֲדֹֽנֵיכֶ֑ם'a.do.nei.KhemH113,Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,Be not afraidתִּירָא֙ti.Ra'H3372ofמִפְּנֵ֤יmi.pe.NeiH6440the wordsהַדְּבָרִים֙ha.de.va.RimH1697which thou hast heardשָׁמַ֗עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085,with which the servantsנַעֲרֵ֥יna.'a.ReiH5288of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804have blasphemedגִּדְּפ֛וּgi.de.FuH1442me.

7Behold, I will sendנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414a blastר֔וּחַRu.achH7307upon him, and he shall hearוְשָׁמַ֥עve.sha.Ma'H8085a rumourשְׁמוּעָ֖הshe.mu.'AhH8052,and shall returnוְשָׁ֣בve.ShavH7725to his own landלְאַרְצ֑וֹle.'ar.TzoH776;and I will cause him to fallוְהִפַּלְתִּ֥יוve.hi.pal.TivH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֖רֶבba.Che.revH2719in his own landבְּאַרְצֽוֹ׃be.'ar.TzoH776.

8So Rab–shakehH7262returnedוַיָּ֙שָׁב֙vai.Ya.shovH7725,and foundוַיִּמְצָא֙vai.yim.Tza'H4672the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֔וּר'a.ShurH804warringנִלְחָ֖םnil.ChamH3898against Libnahלִבְנָ֑הliv.NahH3841:for he had heardשָׁמַ֔עsha.Ma'H8085that he was departedנָסַ֖עna.Sa'H5265from Lachishמִלָּכִֽישׁ׃mi.la.KhishH3923.

9And when he heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֗עvai.yish.Ma'H8085sayלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559of Tirhakahתִּרְהָ֤קָהtir.Ha.kahH8640kingמֶֽלֶך־Me.lekh-H4428of Ethiopiaכּוּשׁ֙kushH3568,Behold, he is come outיָצָ֖אya.Tza'H3318to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֣םle.hi.la.ChemH3898against thee: he sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397againוַיָּ֙שָׁב֙vai.Ya.shovH7725unto Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

11Behold, thou hast heardשָׁמַ֗עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085what the kingsמַלְכֵ֥יmal.KheiH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֛וּר'a.ShurH804have doneעָשׂ֜וּ'a.SuH6213to all landsהָאֲרָצ֖וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776,by destroying them utterlyלְהַֽחֲרִימָ֑םle.ha.cha.ri.MamH2763:and shalt thou be deliveredתִּנָּצֵֽל׃ti.na.TzelH5337?

12Have the godsאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of the nationsהַגּוֹיִם֙ha.go.YimH1471deliveredהַהִצִּ֨ילוּha.hi.Tzi.luH5337them which my fathersאֲבוֹתַ֔י'a.vo.TaiH1have destroyedשִׁחֲת֣וּshi.cha.TuH7843; asGozanגּוֹזָ֖ןgo.ZanH1470,and Haranחָרָ֑ןcha.RanH2771,and Rezephוְרֶ֥צֶףve.Re.tzefH7530,and the childrenוּבְנֵי־u.ve.nei-H1121of Edenעֶ֖דֶן'E.denH5729which werein Thelasarבִּתְלַאשָּֽׂר׃bit.la.SarH8515?

14And Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֧הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396receivedוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the letterהַסְּפָרִ֛יםha.se.fa.RimH5612of the handמִיַּ֥דmi.YadH3027of the messengersהַמַּלְאָכִ֖יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397,and readוַיִּקְרָאֵ֑םvai.yik.ra.'EmH7121it: and Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396went upוַיַּ֙עַל֙vai.Ya.'alH5927into the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and spreadוַיִּפְרְשֵׂ֥הוּvai.yif.re.Se.huH6566it beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068.

18And have castוְנָתְנ֥וּve.na.te.NuH5414their godsאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430into the fireבָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784: for they wereno godsאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430,but the workמַעֲשֵׂ֧הma.'a.SehH4639of men’sאָדָ֛ם'a.DamH120handsיְדֵֽי־ye.dei-H3027,woodעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086and stoneוָאֶ֖בֶןva.'E.venH68:therefore they have destroyedוַֽיְאַבְּדֽוּם׃Vay.'a.be.DumH6them.
