2Twentyעֶשְׂרִ֨ים'es.RimH6242and fiveוְחָמֵ֤שׁve.cha.MeshH2568yearsשָׁנָה֙sha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121was he when he began to reignבְמָלְכ֔וֹve.ma.le.KhoH4427;and he reignedמָלַ֖ךְma.LakhH4427twentyוְעֶשְׂרִ֤יםve.'es.RimH6242and nineוָתֵ֙שַׁע֙va.Te.sha'H8672yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389.His mother’sאִמּ֔וֹ'i.MoH517nameוְשֵׁ֣םve.ShemH8034also wasAbiאֲבִ֖י'a.ViH21,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Zachariahזְכַרְיָֽה׃ze.khar.YahH2148.

3And he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213that which wasrightהַיָּשָׁ֖רhai.ya.SharH3477in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,according to all that Davidדָּוִ֥דda.VidH1732his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1didעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213.

4He removedהֵסִ֣ירhe.SirH5493the high placesהַבָּמ֗וֹתha.ba.MotH1116,and brakeוְשִׁבַּר֙ve.shi.BarH7665the imagesהַמַּצֵּבֹ֔תha.ma.tze.VotH4676,and cut downוְכָרַ֖תve.kha.RatH3772the grovesהָֽאֲשֵׁרָ֑הha.'a.she.RahH842,and brake in piecesוְכִתַּת֩ve.khi.TatH3807the brasenהַנְּחֹ֜שֶׁתha.ne.Cho.shetH5178serpentנְחַ֨שׁne.ChashH5175that Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872had madeעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213:for unto those daysהַיָּמִ֤יםhai.ya.MimH3117the childrenבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478did burn incenseמְקַטְּרִ֣יםme.ka.te.RimH6999to it: and he calledוַיִּקְרָא־vai.yik.ra'-H7121it Nehushtanנְחֻשְׁתָּֽן׃ne.chush.TanH5180.

5He trustedבָּטָ֑חba.TachH982in the Lordבַּיהוָ֥הba.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478;so that afterוְאַחֲרָ֞יוve.'a.cha.RavH310him was none like him among all the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063, nor anythat were beforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him.

6For he claveוַיִּדְבַּק֙vai.yid.BakH1692to the Lordבַּֽיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068, anddepartedסָ֖רsarH5493not from followingמֵאַֽחֲרָ֑יוme.'a.cha.RavH310him, but keptוַיִּשְׁמֹר֙vai.yish.MorH8104his commandmentsמִצְוֹתָ֔יוmitz.vo.TavH4687,which the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

7And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was with him; andhe prosperedיַשְׂכִּ֑ילyas.KilH7919whithersoever he went forthיֵצֵ֖אye.Tze'H3318:and he rebelledוַיִּמְרֹ֥דvai.yim.RodH4775against the kingבְּמֶֽלֶךְ־be.Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804,and servedעֲבָדֽוֹ׃a.va.DoH5647him not.

8He smoteהִכָּ֧הhi.KahH5221the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֛יםpe.lish.TimH6430, evenunto Gazaעַזָּ֖ה'a.ZahH5804,and the bordersגְּבוּלֶ֑יהָge.vu.Lei.haH1366thereof, from the towerמִמִּגְדַּ֥לmi.mig.DalH4026of the watchmenנוֹצְרִ֖יםnotz.RimH5341to the fencedמִבְצָֽר׃ פmiv.TzarH4013cityעִ֥יר'irH5892.

9And it came to pass in the fourthהָֽרְבִיעִית֙ha.re.vi.'ItH7243yearבַּשָּׁנָ֤הba.sha.NahH8141of kingלַמֶּ֣לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396, which wasthe seventhהַשְּׁבִיעִ֔יתha.she.vi.'ItH7637yearהַשָּׁנָ֣הha.sha.NahH8141of Hosheaלְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַle.ho.She.a'H1954sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Elahאֵלָ֖ה'e.LahH425kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, thatShalmaneserשַׁלְמַנְאֶ֧סֶרshal.man.'E.serH8022kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֛וּר'a.ShurH804came upעָלָ֞ה'a.LahH5927against Samariaשֹׁמְר֖וֹןsho.me.RonH8111,and besiegedוַיָּ֥צַרvai.Ya.tzarH6696it.

10And at the endמִקְצֵה֙mik.TzehH7097of threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969yearsשָׁנִ֔יםsha.NimH8141they tookוַֽיִּלְכְּדֻ֗הָvai.yil.ke.Du.haH3920it: evenin the sixthשֵׁ֖שׁsheshH8337yearבִּשְׁנַת־bish.nat-H8141of Hezekiahלְחִזְקִיָּ֑הle.chiz.ki.YahH2396, that isthe ninthתֵּ֗שַׁעTe.sha'H8672yearשְׁנַת־she.nat-H8141of Hosheaלְהוֹשֵׁ֙עַ֙le.ho.She.a'H1954kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃sho.me.RonH8111was takenנִלְכְּדָ֖הnil.ke.DahH3920.

11And the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֛וּר'a.ShurH804did carry awayוַיֶּ֧גֶלvai.Ye.gelH1540Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478unto Assyriaאַשּׁ֑וּרָה'a.Shu.rahH804,and putוַיַּנְחֵ֞םvai.yan.ChemH5148them in Halahבַּחְלַ֧חbach.LachH2477and in Haborוּבְחָב֛וֹרu.ve.cha.VorH2249bythe riverנְהַ֥רne.HarH5104of Gozanגּוֹזָ֖ןgo.ZanH1470,and in the citiesוְעָרֵ֥יve.'a.ReiH5892of the Medesמָדָֽי׃ma.DaiH4074:

12Because they obeyedשָׁמְע֗וּsha.me.'UH8085not the voiceבְּקוֹל֙be.kOlH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430,but transgressedוַיַּעַבְרוּ֙vai.ya.'av.RuH5674his covenantבְּרִית֔וֹbe.ri.ToH1285, andall that Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֔הtzi.VahH6680,and would not hearשָׁמְע֖וּsha.me.'UH8085them,nor doעָשֽׂוּ׃ פ'a.SuH6213them.
