Context of Hebrews 13:11
9Don’t get carried away by all kinds of unfamiliar teachings. Gaining inner strength from God’s kindness is good for us. This strength does not come from following rules about food, rules that don’t help those who follow them. 10Those who serve at the tent have no right to eat what is sacrificed at our altar. The chief priest brings the blood of animals into the holy place as an offering for sin. But the bodies of those animals were burned outside the Israelite camp. 12That is why Jesus suffered outside the gates of Jerusalem. He suffered to make the people holy with his own blood. 13So we must go to him outside the camp and endure the insults he endured.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11For the bodies of those beasts - Though in making covenants, and in some victims offered according to the law, the flesh of the sacrifice was eaten by the offerers; yet the flesh of the sin-offering might no man eat: when the blood was sprinkled before the holy place to make an atonement for their souls, the skins, flesh, entrails, etc., were carried without the camp, and there entirely consumed by fire; and this entire consumption, according to the…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 11For the bodies of those beasts - The word rendered here “for” - ̀ gar- would be here more properly rendered “moreover.” Stuart. The apostle is not urging a reason for what he had said in the previous verse, but is suggesting a new consideration to excite those whom he addressed to fidelity and perseverance. In the previous verse the consideration was, that Christians are permitted to partake of the benefits of a higher and more perfect sacrifice than…Read the comment

Christ is the same in the Old Testament day. as in the gospel day, and will be so to his people for ever, equally merciful…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 11-1211-12.
