Context of Hebrews 13:11
9Don’t be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by food regulations, since those who observe them have not benefited. 10We have an altar from which those who worship at the tabernacle do not have a right to eat. For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the most holy place by the high priest as a sin offering are burned outside the camp. 12Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that he might sanctify the people by his own blood. 13Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing his disgrace.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11For the bodies of those beasts - Though in making covenants, and in some victims offered according to the law, the flesh of the sacrifice was eaten by the offerers; yet the flesh of the sin-offering might no man eat: when the blood was sprinkled before the holy place to make an atonement for their souls, the skins, flesh, entrails, etc., were carried without the camp, and there entirely consumed by fire; and this entire consumption, according to the…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 11For the bodies of those beasts - The word rendered here “for” - ̀ gar- would be here more properly rendered “moreover.” Stuart. The apostle is not urging a reason for what he had said in the previous verse, but is suggesting a new consideration to excite those whom he addressed to fidelity and perseverance. In the previous verse the consideration was, that Christians are permitted to partake of the benefits of a higher and more perfect sacrifice than…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 7-15Verses 7-15 The instructions and examples of ministers, who honourably and comfortably closed their testimony, should be particularly remembered by survivors. And though their ministers were some dead, others dying, yet the great Head and High Priest of the church, the Bishop of their souls, ever lives, and is ever the same. Christ is the same in the Old Testament day. as in the gospel day, and will be so to his people for ever, equally merciful…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 11-1211-12. For just as "the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by ... are burned without the camp," so "Jesus also that ... suffered without the gate" of ceremonial Judaism, of which His crucifixion outside the gate of Jerusalem is a type. for--reason why they who serve the tabernacle, are excluded from share in Christ; because His sacrifice is not like one of those sacrifices in which they had a share but answers to one which…Read the comment
