Context of Galatians 3:26
24In that way, God's Law was like our guide. It kept us safe until Christ came. Then God could accept us as right because we trusted Christ. 25But now that the way of faith in Christ has come, we do not need God's Law to keep us safe any longer. All of you are God's children because you believe in Christ Jesus. 27They baptized you as believers in Christ. That means that you have put on Christ, like someone who puts on new clothes. 28It does not matter whether you are a Jew or a Gentile. It does not matter whether you are a slave or a free person. It does not matter whether you are a man or a woman. You all belong together because you all belong to Christ Jesus.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 26For ye are all the children of God - All who bear the Christian name - the converts from among the Jews and Gentiles alike; see the note at John 1:12. The idea here is, that they are no longer under tutors and governors; they are no longer subject to the direction and will of the “paedagogus”; they are arrived at age, and are admitted to the privileges of sons; see the note at Galatians 4:1. The language here is derived from the fact, that until the son…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 26-29Verses 26-29 Real Christians enjoy great privileges under the gospel; and are no longer accounted servants, but sons; not now kept at such a distance, and under such restraints as the Jews were. But no outward forms or profession can secure these blessings; for if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 26Those who are God's children through faith in Jesus Christ (see also 4:4–7; John 1:12; Romans 9:8) have come of age as heirs to his promises (see Galatians 3:24–25, 29). They have received a part of that inheritance (3:14; Ephesians 1:14). The Galatians acted unwisely by trying to gain access to God through circumcision (Galatians 3:1). As God's children by faith, they already had the best possible access to him.Read the comment
