Context of Galatians 6:1
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught doing something wrong, you who are directed by the Ruach, restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness—looking closely at yourself so you are not tempted also. 2Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you fulfill the Torah of Messiah. 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he is fooling himself.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken - · If he be surprised, seized on without warning, suddenly invaded, taken before he is aware: all these meanings the word has in connections similar to this. Strabo, lib. xvi., page 1120, applies it to the rhinoceros, in its contests with the elephant: he suddenly rips up the belly of the elephant, ͅ , that he may not be surprised with his trunk. For, should the elephant seize him with his trunk first, all resistance would…Read the comment

The word rendered “be overtaken” ( ͅ prolēmphthēfrom ́ prolambanō), means properly “to take before another, to anticipate” 1 Corinthians 11:21; then “to be before taken or caught”; and may here mean either that…Read the comment
