Joshua 20:2-6
SpeakH1696 to the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, AssignH5414 youH834 the citiesH5892 of refugeH4733, whereof I spake unto youH834 by the handH3027 of MosesH4872:
that the manslayerH7523 that killeth anyH1961 personH5315 unwittingly and unawares may fleeH5127 thither: and they shall be unto youH5221 for a refugeH4733 from the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818.
And he shall fleeH5127 unto one of thoseH428 citiesH5892, and shall standH5975 at the entering of the gateH8179 of the cityH5892, and declareH1696 his causeH1697 in the earsH241 of the eldersH2205 of that cityH5892; and they shall takeH622 him intoH413 the cityH5892 unto them, and giveH5414 him a placeH4725, that he may dwellH3427 among them.
And ifH3588 the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818 pursueH7291 afterH310 him, then they shall notH3808 deliverH5462 upH5462 the manslayerH7523 intoH3027 his handH3027; becauseH3588 he smoteH5221 his neighbour unawares, and hatedH8130 him notH3808 beforetime.
And he shall dwellH3427 in that cityH5892, untilH5704 he standH5975 beforeH6440 the congregationH5712 for judgmentH4941, untilH5704 the deathH4194 of the highH1419 priestH3548 that shall be in thoseH834 daysH3117: then shall the manslayerH7523 returnH7725, and comeH935 unto his ownH1961 cityH5892, and unto his ownH1961 houseH1004, unto the cityH5892 from whence he fledH5127.
