18so that they mightrequestלְמִבְעֵא֙le.miv.'E'H1156compassionוְרַחֲמִ֗יןve.ra.cha.MinH7359from the Godאֱלָ֣הּ'e.LahH426of heavenשְׁמַיָּ֔אshe.mai.Ya'H8065concerningעַל־'al-H5922thisדְּנָ֑הde.NahH1836mysteryרָזָ֖הra.Zah'H7328,soדִּ֣יdiH1768that Danielדָּנִיֵּ֣אלda.ni.YelH1841and his friendsוְחַבְר֔וֹהִיve.chav.Ro.hiH2269would not bedestroyedיְהֹֽבְדוּן֙ye.hoe.DunH7with the restשְׁאָ֖רshe.'ArH7606of the wiseחַכִּימֵ֥יcha.ki.MeiH2445menH2445of Babylonבָבֶֽל׃va.VelH895.

19Thenאֱדַ֗יִן'e.Da.yinH116the mysteryרָזָ֣הra.Zah'H7328was revealedגֲלִ֑יga.LiH1541to Danielלְדָנִיֵּ֛אלle.da.ni.YelH1841in a nightלֵילְיָ֖אleil.Ya'H3916visionבְּחֶזְוָ֥אbe.chez.Va'H2376.Thenאֱדַ֙יִן֙'e.Da.yinH116Danielדָּֽנִיֵּ֔אלda.ni.YelH1841blessedבָּרִ֖ךְba.RikhH1289the Godלֶאֱלָ֥הּle.'e.LahH426of heavenשְׁמַיָּֽא׃she.mai.Ya'H8065;

20Danielדָֽנִיֵּאל֙da.ni.yeLH1841saidוְאָמַ֔רve.'a.MarH560, “Let the nameשְׁמֵ֤הּshe.MehH8036of Godאֱלָהָא֙'e.la.Ha'H426beblessedמְבָרַ֔ךְme.va.RakhH1289foreverעָלְמָ֖א'al.Ma'H5957and everעָלְמָ֑א'al.Ma'H5957, Forwisdomחָכְמְתָ֛אcha.khe.me.Ta'H2452and powerוּגְבוּרְתָ֖אu.ge.vu.re.Ta'H1370belong to Him.

21It is He whochangesמְהַשְׁנֵ֤אme.hash.Ne'H8133the timesעִדָּנַיָּא֙'i.da.nai.Ya'H5732and the epochsוְזִמְנַיָּ֔אve.zim.nai.Ya'H2166; Heremovesמְהַעְדֵּ֥הme.ha'.DehH5709kingsמַלְכִ֖יןmal.KhinH4430andestablishesוּמְהָקֵ֣יםu.me.ha.KeimH6966kingsמַלְכִ֑יןmal.KhinH4430;He givesיָהֵ֤בya.HevH3052wisdomחָכְמְתָא֙cha.khe.me.Ta'H2452to wiseלְחַכִּימִ֔יןle.cha.ki.MinH2445menH2445And knowledgeוּמַנְדְּעָ֖אu.man.de.'A'H4486tomen of understandingבִינָֽה׃vi.NahH999.

22It is He whorevealsגָּלֵ֥אga.Le'H1541the profoundעַמִּיקָתָ֖א'a.mi.ka.Ta'H5994and hiddenH5642thingsH5642;He knowsיָדַע֙ya.Da'H3046whatמָ֣הmahH4101is in the darknessבַחֲשׁוֹכָ֔אva.cha.sho.Kha'H2816, And thelightוּנְהוֹרָ֖אu.ne.hi.ra'H5094dwellsשְׁרֵֽא׃she.Re'H8271with Him.

23To You, OGodאֱלָ֣הּ'e.LahH426of my fathersאֲבָהָתִ֗י'a.va.ha.TiH2,I giveH3029thanksH3029and praiseוּמְשַׁבַּח֙u.me.sha.BachH7624,For You have givenיְהַ֣בְתְּye.HavtH3052mewisdomחָכְמְתָ֛אcha.khe.me.Ta'H2452and powerוּגְבוּרְתָ֖אu.ge.vu.re.Ta'H1370;Even nowוּכְעַ֤ןu.khe.'AnH3705You have madeH3046knownH3046to me whatH1768werequestedבְעֵ֣ינָאve.'Ei.na'H1156of You,For You have madeH3046knownH3046to us the king’sמַלְכָּ֖אmal.Ka'H4430matterמִלַּ֥תmi.LatH4406.”

24Thereforeקֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָ֗הko.Vel de.NahH3606 H6903 H1836,Danielדָּֽנִיֵּאל֙da.ni.yeLH1841wentעַ֣ל'alH5954in to Ariochאַרְי֔וֹךְ'ar.YokhH746,whomדִּ֚יdiH1768the kingמַלְכָּ֔אmal.Ka'H4430had appointedמַנִּ֣יma.NiH4483to destroyלְהוֹבָדָ֖הle.hoa.DahH7the wiseלְחַכִּימֵ֣יle.cha.ki.MeiH2445menH2445of Babylonבָבֶ֑לva.VelH895;he wentאֲזַ֣ל׀'a.ZalH236and spokeאֲמַר־'a.mar-H560to him as followsוְכֵ֣ןve.KhenH3652: “Do not destroyתְּהוֹבֵ֔דte.ho.VedH7the wiseלְחַכִּימֵ֤יle.cha.ki.MeiH2445menH2445of Babylonבָבֶל֙va.VelH895!Takeהַעֵ֙לְנִי֙ha.'E.le.niH5954meinto the king’sמַלְכָּ֔אmal.Ka'H4430presenceקֳדָ֣םko.DamH6925,and I will declareH2331the interpretationוּפִשְׁרָ֖אu.fish.Ra'H6591to the kingלְמַלְכָּ֥אle.mal.Ka'H4430.”

25Thenאֱדַ֤יִן'e.Da.yinH116Ariochאַרְיוֹךְ֙'ar.yoKhH746hurriedlyבְּהִתְבְּהָלָ֔הbe.hit.be.ha.LahH927broughtהַנְעֵ֥לhan.'ElH5954Danielלְדָנִיֵּ֖אלle.da.ni.YelH1841into the king’sמַלְכָּ֑אmal.Ka'H4430presenceקֳדָ֣םko.DamH6925and spokeאֲמַר־'a.mar-H560to him as followsוְכֵ֣ןve.KhenH3652: “I have foundהַשְׁכַּ֤חַתhash.Ka.chatH7912a manגְּבַר֙ge.VarH1400amongמִן־min-H4481 H1123theexilesגָֽלוּתָא֙ga.lu.Ta'H1123 H1547from Judahיְה֔וּדye.HudH3061whoH1768can makeיְהוֹדַֽע׃ye.ho.Da'H3046the interpretationפִשְׁרָ֖אfish.Ra'H6591knownH3046to the kingלְמַלְכָּ֥אle.mal.Ka'H4430!”

26The kingמַלְכָּא֙mal.Ka'H4430saidוְאָמַ֣רve.'a.MarH560to Danielלְדָנִיֵּ֔אלle.da.ni.YelH1841,whoseדִּ֥יdiH1768nameשְׁמֵ֖הּshe.MehH8036wasBelteshazzarבֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֑רbe.le.te.sha.TzarH1096, “Are you ableכָּהֵ֗לka.HelH3546to makeלְהוֹדָעֻתַ֛נִיle.ho.da.'u.Ta.niH3046knownH3046to me the dreamחֶלְמָ֥אchel.Ma'H2493whichדִֽי־di-H1768I have seenחֲזֵ֖יתcha.ZeitH2370and its interpretationוּפִשְׁרֵֽהּ׃u.fish.RehH6591?”

27Danielדָנִיֵּ֛אלda.ni.YelH1841answeredעָנֵ֧ה'a.NehH6032beforeקֳדָ֥םko.DamH6925the kingמַלְכָּ֖אmal.Ka'H4430and saidוְאָמַ֑רve.'a.MarH560, “As for the mysteryרָזָה֙ra.Zah'H7328about whichדִּֽי־di-H1768the kingמַלְכָּ֣אmal.Ka'H4430has inquiredשָׁאֵ֔לsha.'ElH7593,neitherלָ֧אla'H3809wiseחַכִּימִ֣יןcha.ki.MinH2445menH2445,conjurersאָֽשְׁפִ֗ין'a.she.FinH826,magiciansחַרְטֻמִּין֙char.tu.MinH2749nordivinersגָּזְרִ֔יןga.ze.RinH1505are ableיָכְלִ֖יןya.khe.LinH3202to declareH2331itto the kingלְמַלְכָּֽא׃le.mal.Ka'H4430.

28Howeverבְּרַ֡םbe.RamH1297,thereאִיתַ֞י'i.TaiH383is aGodאֱלָ֤הּ'e.LahH426in heavenבִּשְׁמַיָּא֙bish.mai.Ya'H8065whoדִּ֥יdiH1768revealsגָּלֵ֣אga.Le'H1541mysteriesרָזִ֔יןra.ZinH7328,and He has madeH3046knownH3046to Kingלְמַלְכָּא֙le.mal.Ka'H4430Nebuchadnezzarנְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֔רne.vu.khad.ne.TzarH5020whatמָ֛הmahH4101will takeH1934placeH1934in thelatterבְּאַחֲרִ֣יתbe.'a.cha.RitH320daysיוֹמַיָּ֑אyo.mai.Ya'H3118.Thisדְּנָ֥הde.NahH1836was your dreamחֶלְמָ֨ךְchel.MakhH2493and thevisionsוְחֶזְוֵ֥יve.chez.VeiH2376in your mindרֵאשָׁ֛ךְre.ShakhH7217whileon your bedמִשְׁכְּבָ֖ךְmish.ke.VakhH4903.

29As for you, O kingמַלְכָּ֗אmal.Ka'H4430, whileon your bedמִשְׁכְּבָ֣ךְmish.ke.VakhH4903your thoughtsרַעְיוֹנָךְ֙ra'.yo.noKhH7476turnedסְלִ֔קוּse.Li.kuH5559to whatמָ֛הmahH4101would takeH1934placeH1934in the futureאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH311; andHe who revealsוְגָלֵ֧אve.ga.Le'H1541mysteriesרָזַיָּ֛אra.zai.Ya'H7328has madeH3046knownH3046to you whatמָה־mah-H4101will takeH1934placeH1934.

30But as for me, thisדְנָ֖הde.NahH1836mysteryרָזָ֥אra.Za'H7328hasH383not been revealedגֱּלִ֣יge.LiH1541to me for anywisdomבְחָכְמָה֙ve.cha.khe.MahH2452residingH383in me moreמִן־min-H4481thanH4481inanyכָּל־kol-H3606otherlivingחַיַּיָּ֔אchai.yai.Ya'H2417manH2417,but for the purposeדִּבְרַת֙div.RatH1701of makingיְהוֹדְע֔וּןye.hod.'UnH3046the interpretationפִשְׁרָא֙fish.Ra'H6591knownתִּנְדַּֽע׃tin.Da'H3046to the kingלְמַלְכָּ֣אle.mal.Ka'H4430, and that you mayunderstandH3046thethoughtsוְרַעְיוֹנֵ֥יve.ra'.yo.NeiH7476of yourmindלִבְבָ֖ךְli.VakhH3825.
