Jonah 1:7-10
7Each man said to his mate, “Come, let us 1cast lots so we may 2learn on whose account this calamity has struck us.” So they cast lots and the 3lot fell on Jonah. 8Then they said to him, “4Tell us, now! On whose account has this calamity struck us? What is your 5occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?” 9He said to them, “I am a 6Hebrew, and I 7fear the Lord 8God of heaven who 9made the sea and the dry land.”
10Then the men became extremely frightened and they said to him, “10How could you do this?” For the men knew that he was 11fleeing from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.
