Daniel 8:19-25
19He said, “Behold, I am going to 1let you know what will occur at the final period of the indignation, for it pertains to the appointed time of the end. 20The 2ram which you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21The shaggy 3goat represents the 4kingdom of Greece, and the large horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22The 5broken horn and the four horns that arose in its place represent four kingdoms which will arise from his nation, although not with his power.23In the latter period of their 6rule, When the transgressors have 7run their course, A king will arise, 8Insolent and skilled in 9intrigue.24His power will be mighty, but not by his own power, And he will 1011destroy to an extraordinary degree And prosper and perform his will; He will 12destroy mighty men and 13the holy people.25And through his shrewdness He will cause deceit to succeed by his 14influence; And he will magnify himself in his heart, And he will 15destroy many while they are 16at ease. He will even 1718oppose the Prince of princes, But he will be broken 19without 20human agency.
