1 John 2:13-17

13I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him 1who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because 2you have overcome 3the evil one. I have written to you, children, because 4you know the Father. 14I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him 5who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are 6strong, and the 7word of God abides in you, and 8you have overcome the evil one.

15Do not love 9the world nor the things in the world. 10If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, 11the lust of the flesh and 12the lust of the eyes and 13the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 1714The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who 15does the will of God lives forever.
