1 Corinthians 15:44-58

44it is sown a 1natural body, it is raised a 2spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So also it is written, “The first 3man, Adam, became a living soul.” The 4last Adam became a 5life-giving spirit. 46However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47The first man is 6from the earth, 78earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, 9so also are those who are heavenly. 49Just as we have 10borne the image of the earthy, 11we 12will also bear the image of the heavenly.

50Now I say this, brethren, that 13flesh and blood cannot 14inherit the kingdom of God; nor does 15the perishable inherit 1617the imperishable. 51Behold, I tell you a 18mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be 19changed, 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for 20the trumpet will sound, and 21the dead will be raised 22imperishable, and 23we will be changed. 53For this 24perishable must put on 2526the imperishable, and this 27mortal must put on immortality. 54But when this 28perishable will have put on 29the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “30Death is swallowed up in victory. 5531O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56The sting of 32death is sin, and 33the power of sin is the law; 57but 34thanks be to God, who gives us the 35victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

5836Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in 37the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
