1 Corinthians 15:42-57

421So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown 23a perishable body, it is raised 45an imperishable body; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in 6glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a 7natural body, it is raised a 8spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So also it is written, “The first 9man, Adam, became a living soul.” The 10last Adam became a 11life-giving spirit. 46However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47The first man is 12from the earth, 1314earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, 15so also are those who are heavenly. 49Just as we have 16borne the image of the earthy, 17we 18will also bear the image of the heavenly.

50Now I say this, brethren, that 19flesh and blood cannot 20inherit the kingdom of God; nor does 21the perishable inherit 2223the imperishable. 51Behold, I tell you a 24mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be 25changed, 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for 26the trumpet will sound, and 27the dead will be raised 28imperishable, and 29we will be changed. 53For this 30perishable must put on 3132the imperishable, and this 33mortal must put on immortality. 54But when this 34perishable will have put on 35the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “36Death is swallowed up in victory. 5537O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56The sting of 38death is sin, and 39the power of sin is the law; 57but 40thanks be to God, who gives us the 41victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
