8Oבִּ֖יbiH994Lordאֲדֹנָ֑י'a.do.NaiH136,what shall I sayאֹמַ֔ר'o.MarH559,whenאַ֠חֲרֵי'A.cha.reiH310Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478turnethהָפַ֧ךְha.FakhH2015their backsעֹ֖רֶף'O.refH6203beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440their enemiesאֹיְבָֽיו׃'o.ye.VavH341!

9For the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֗יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and all the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776shall hearוְיִשְׁמְע֣וּve.yish.me.'UH8085of it,and shall environ us roundוְנָסַ֣בּוּve.na.Sa.buH5437,and cut offוְהִכְרִ֥יתוּve.hikh.Ri.tuH3772our nameשְׁמֵ֖נוּshe.Me.nuH8034from the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776:and what wilt thou doתַּעֲשֵׂ֖הta.'a.SehH6213unto thy greatהַגָּדֽוֹל׃ סha.ga.DolH1419nameלְשִׁמְךָ֥le.shim.KhaH8034?

10And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,Get thee upקֻ֣םkumH6965;wherefore liestנֹפֵ֥לno.FelH5307thou thus upon thy faceפָּנֶֽיךָ׃pa.Nei.khaH6440?

11Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478hath sinnedחָטָא֙cha.Ta'H2398,and they have also transgressedעָבְר֣וּ'a.ve.RuH5674my covenantבְּרִיתִ֔יbe.ri.TiH1285which I commandedצִוִּ֖יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680them: for they have even takenלָֽקְחוּ֙la.ke.ChuH3947of the accursed thingהַחֵ֔רֶםha.Che.remH2764,and have also stolenגָּֽנְבוּ֙ga.ne.VuH1589,and dissembledכִּֽחֲשׁ֔וּki.cha.ShuH3584also, and they have putשָׂ֥מוּSa.muH7760iteven among their own stuffבִכְלֵיהֶֽם׃vikh.lei.HemH3627.

12Therefore the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478couldיֻכְל֜וּyukh.LuH3201not standלָקוּם֙la.KumH6965beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440their enemiesאֹיְבֵיהֶ֔ם'o.ye.vei.HemH341, butturnedיִפְנוּ֙yif.NuH6437theirbacksעֹ֗רֶף'O.refH6203beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440their enemiesאֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם'o.ye.vei.HemH341,because they were accursedלְחֵ֑רֶםle.Che.remH2764:neither will I be with you any moreאוֹסִיף֙'o.SifH3254,exceptH3808ye destroyתַשְׁמִ֛ידוּtash.Mi.duH8045the accursedהַחֵ֖רֶםha.Che.remH2764from amongמִֽקִּרְבְּכֶֽם׃Mi.kir.be.KhemH7130you.

13Upקֻ֚םkumH6965,sanctifyקַדֵּ֣שׁka.DeshH6942the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֖ve.'a.mar.TaH559,Sanctifyהִתְקַדְּשׁ֣וּhit.ka.de.ShuH6942yourselves against to morrowלְמָחָ֑רle.ma.CharH4279:for thus saithאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, There isan accursed thingחֵ֤רֶםChe.remH2764in the midstבְּקִרְבְּךָ֙be.kir.be.ChaH7130of thee, O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478:thou canstתוּכַ֗לtu.KhalH3201not standלָקוּם֙la.KumH6965beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440thine enemiesאֹיְבֶ֔יךָ'o.ye.Vei.khaH341,until ye take awayהֲסִירְכֶ֥םha.sir.KhemH5493the accursed thingהַחֵ֖רֶםha.Che.remH2764from amongמִֽקִּרְבְּכֶֽם׃Mi.kir.be.KhemH7130you.

14In the morningבַּבֹּ֖קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242therefore ye shall be broughtוְנִקְרַבְתֶּ֥םve.nik.rav.TemH7126according to your tribesלְשִׁבְטֵיכֶ֑םle.shiv.tei.KhemH7626: and it shall be, thatthe tribeהַשֵּׁבֶט֩ha.she.VetH7626which the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068takethיִלְכְּדֶ֨נּוּyil.ke.De.nuH3920shall comeיִקְרַ֣בyik.RavH7126according to the familiesלַמִּשְׁפָּח֗וֹתla.mish.pa.ChotH4940thereof;and the familyוְהַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֞הve.ha.mish.pa.ChahH4940which the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068shall takeיִלְכְּדֶ֤נָּהyil.ke.De.nahH3920shall comeתִּקְרַ֣בtik.RavH7126by householdsלַבָּתִּ֔יםla.ba.TimH1004;and the householdוְהַבַּ֙יִת֙ve.ha.Ba.yitH1004which the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068shall takeיִלְכְּדֶ֣נּוּyil.ke.De.nuH3920shall comeיִקְרַ֖בyik.RavH7126manH1397by manH1397.

15And it shall be, thathe that is takenהַנִּלְכָּ֣דha.nil.KadH3920with the accursed thingבַּחֵ֔רֶםba.Che.remH2764shall be burntיִשָּׂרֵ֣ףyi.sa.RefH8313with fireבָּאֵ֔שׁba.'EshH784,he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressedעָבַר֙'a.VarH5674the covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and because he hath wroughtעָשָׂ֥ה'a.SahH6213follyנְבָלָ֖הne.va.LahH5039in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

16So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091rose up earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֤םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֔קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242,and broughtוַיַּקְרֵ֥בvai.yak.RevH7126Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478by their tribesלִשְׁבָטָ֑יוlish.va.TavH7626;and the tribeשֵׁ֥בֶטShe.vetH7626of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063was takenוַיִּלָּכֵ֖דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920:

17And he broughtוַיַּקְרֵב֙vai.yak.RevH7126the familyמִשְׁפַּ֣חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063;and he tookוַיִּלְכֹּ֕דvai.yil.KodH3920the familyמִשְׁפַּ֣חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of the Zarhitesהַזַּרְחִ֑יha.zar.ChiH2227:and he broughtוַיַּקְרֵ֞בvai.yak.RevH7126the familyמִשְׁפַּ֤חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of the Zarhitesהַזַּרְחִי֙ha.zar.ChiH2227manH1397by manH1397;and Zabdiזַבְדִּֽי׃zav.DiH2067was takenוַיִּלָּכֵ֖דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920:

18And he broughtוַיַּקְרֵ֥בvai.yak.RevH7126his householdבֵּית֖וֹbei.ToH1004manH1397by manH1397;and Achanעָכָ֞ן'a.KhanH5912,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Carmiכַּרְמִ֧יkar.MiH3756,the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Zabdiזַבְדִּ֛יzav.DiH2067,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zerahזֶ֖רַחZe.rachH2226,of the tribeלְמַטֵּ֥הle.ma.TehH4294of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063,was takenוַיִּלָּכֵ֗דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920.

19And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Achanעָכָ֗ן'a.KhanH5912,My sonבְּנִי֙be.NiH1121,giveשִֽׂים־sim-H7760,I pray thee, gloryכָב֗וֹדkha.VodH3519to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֛הla.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and makeוְתֶן־ve.ten-H5414confessionתוֹדָ֑הto.DahH8426unto him; and tellוְהַגֶּד־ve.ha.ged-H5046me now what thou hast doneעָשִׂ֔יתָ'a.Si.taH6213;hideתְּכַחֵ֖דte.kha.ChedH3582it not from me.

20And Achanעָכָ֛ן'a.KhanH5912answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559,Indeedאָמְנָ֗ה'a.me.NahH546I have sinnedחָטָ֙אתִי֙cha.Ta.tiH2398against the Lordלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and thus and thus have I doneעָשִֽׂיתִי׃'a.Si.tiH6213:

22So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397,and they ranוַיָּרֻ֖צוּvai.ya.Ru.tzuH7323unto the tentהָאֹ֑הֱלָהha.'O.he.lahH168; and, behold, it washidטְמוּנָ֛הte.mu.NahH2934in his tentבְּאָהֳל֖וֹbe.'o.ho.LoH168,and the silverוְהַכֶּ֥סֶףve.ha.Ke.sefH3701under it.

23And they tookוַיִּקָּחוּם֙vai.yi.ka.ChumH3947them out of the midstמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the tentהָאֹ֔הֶלha.'O.helH168,and broughtוַיְבִאוּם֙vay.vi.'UmH935them unto Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,and unto all the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and laid them outוַיַּצִּקֻ֖םvai.ya.tzi.KumH3332beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

24And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,and all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478with him, tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947Achanעָכָ֣ן'a.KhanH5912the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zerahזֶ֡רַחZe.rachH2226,and the silverהַכֶּ֣סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701,and the garmentהָאַדֶּ֣רֶתha.'a.De.retH155,and the wedgeלְשׁ֣וֹןle.ShonH3956of goldהַזָּהָ֡בha.za.HavH2091,and his sonsבָּנָ֡יוba.NavH1121,and his daughtersבְּנֹתָ֡יוbe.no.TavH1323,and his oxenשׁוֹרוֹ֩sho.RoH7794,and his assesחֲמֹר֨וֹcha.mo.RoH2543,and his sheepצֹאנ֤וֹtzo.NoH6629,and his tentאָהֳלוֹ֙'o.ho.LoH168,and all that he had: and they broughtוַיַּעֲל֥וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927them unto the valleyעֵ֥מֶק'E.mekH6010of Achorעָכֽוֹר׃a.KhorH5911.

25And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Whyמֶ֣הmehH4100hast thou troubledעֲכַרְתָּ֔נוּ'a.khar.Ta.nuH5916us? the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068shall troubleיַעְכֳּרְךָ֥ya'.kor.KhaH5916thee this dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117.And all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478stonedוַיִּרְגְּמ֨וּvai.yir.ge.MuH7275him with stonesאֶ֔בֶן'E.venH68,and burnedוַיִּשְׂרְפ֤וּvai.yis.re.FuH8313them with fireבָּאֵ֔שׁba.'EshH784,after they had stonedוַיִּסְקְל֥וּvai.yis.ke.LuH5619them with stonesבָּאֲבָנִֽים׃ba.'a.va.NimH68.
