18And Abishaiוַאֲבִישַׁ֞יva.'a.vi.ShaiH52,the brotherאֲחִ֣י׀'a.ChiH251of Joabיוֹאָ֣בyo.'AvH3097,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zeruiahצְרוּיָ֗הtze.ru.YahH6870,was chiefרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218among threeH7992.And he lifted upעוֹרֵ֣רo.RerH5782his spearחֲנִית֔וֹcha.ni.ToH2595against threeH7969hundredמֵא֖וֹתme.'otH3967, andslewחָלָ֑לcha.LalH2491them,and had the nameשֵׁ֖םshemH8034among threeH7969.

19Was he not most honourableנִכְבָּ֔דnikh.BadH3513of threeהַשְּׁלֹשָׁה֙ha.she.lo.ShahH7969?therefore he was their captainלְשָׂ֑רle.SarH8269:howbeit he attainedבָֽא׃ סVa'H935not unto the firstthreeהַשְּׁלֹשָׁ֖הha.she.lo.ShahH7969.

20And Benaiahוּבְנָיָ֨הוּu.ve.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֧עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of a valiantחַ֛יִלchaiH2428manאִֽישׁ־'ish-H381 H376,of Kabzeelמִֽקַּבְצְאֵ֑לmi.kav.tze.'ElH6909,who had done manyרַב־rav-H7227actsפְּעָלִ֖יםpe.'a.LimH6467,he slewהִכָּ֗הhi.KahH5221twoשְׁנֵ֤יshe.NeiH8147lionlike menאֲרִאֵל֙'a.ri.'ElH739of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124:he went downיָרַ֞דya.RadH3381also and slewוְהִכָּ֧הve.hi.KahH5221a lionהָאֲרִ֛יha.'a.ri.yahH738in the midstבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of a pitהַבֹּ֖ארha.BorH953in timeבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117of snowהַשָּֽׁלֶג׃ha.Sha.legH7950:

21And he slewוַיַּהַרְגֵ֖הוּvai.ya.har.Ge.huH2026an Egyptianמִצְרִ֜יmitz.RiH4713,a goodlyמַרְאֶ֗הmar.'EhH4758manH376:and the Egyptianהַמִּצְרִי֙ha.mitz.RiH4713had a spearחֲנִ֔יתcha.NitH2595in his handוּבְיַ֤דu.ve.YadH3027;but he went downוַיֵּ֥רֶדvai.Ye.redH3381to him with a staffבַּשָּׁ֑בֶטba.Sha.vetH7626,and pluckedוַיִּגְזֹ֤לvai.yig.ZolH1497the spearהַחֲנִית֙ha.cha.NitH2595out of the Egyptian’sהַמִּצְרִ֔יha.mitz.RiH4713handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027,and slewהִכָּה֩hi.KahH5221him with his own spearבַּחֲנִיתֽוֹ׃ba.cha.ni.ToH2595.

22These thingsdidעָשָׂ֔ה'a.SahH6213Benaiahבְּנָיָ֖הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֑עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077,and had the nameשֵׁ֖םshemH8034among threeבִּשְׁלֹשָׁ֥הbish.lo.ShahH7969mighty menהַגִּבֹּרִֽים׃ha.gi.bo.RimH1368.

23He was more honourableנִכְבָּ֔דnikh.BadH3513than the thirtyהַשְּׁלֹשִׁ֣יםha.she.lo.ShimH7970,but he attainedבָ֑אVa'H935not to the firstthreeהַשְּׁלֹשָׁ֖הha.she.lo.ShahH7969.And Davidדָוִ֖דda.VidH1732setוַיְשִׂמֵ֥הוּvay.si.Me.huH7760him over his guardמִשְׁמַעְתּֽוֹ׃ סmish.ma'.ToH4928.
