21And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֜הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452cameוַיִּגַּ֨שׁvai.yi.GashH5066unto all the peopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971,and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559,How longעַל־'al-H5921haltפֹּסְחִים֮po.se.ChimH6452ye between twoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147opinionsהַסְּעִפִּים֒ha.se.'i.PimH5587?if the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068beGodהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430,follow him: but if Baalהַבַּ֖עַלha.Ba.'alH1168, thenfollowH310H3212him. And the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971answeredעָנ֥וּ'a.NuH6030him not a wordדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697.
22Then saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Elijahאֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙'e.li.Ya.huH452unto the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971, I, evenI only, remainנוֹתַ֧רְתִּיno.Tar.tiH3498a prophetנָבִ֛יאna.Vi'H5030of the Lordלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068;but Baal’sהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168prophetsוּנְבִיאֵ֣יu.ne.vi.'EiH5030arefourאַרְבַּע־'ar.ba'-H702hundredמֵא֥וֹתme.'otH3967and fiftyוַחֲמִשִּׁ֖יםva.cha.mi.ShimH2572menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376.
23Let them therefore giveוְיִתְּנוּ־ve.yi.te.nu-H5414us twoשְׁנַ֣יִםshe.Na.yimH8147bullocksפָּרִ֗יםpa.RimH6499;and let them chooseוְיִבְחֲר֣וּve.yiv.cha.RuH977oneהָאֶחָ֜דha.'e.ChadH259bullockהַפָּ֨רha.ParH6499for themselves, and cut it in piecesוִֽינַתְּחֻ֗הוּvi.na.te.Chu.huH5408,and layוְיָשִׂ֙ימוּ֙ve.ya.Si.muH7760iton woodהָ֣עֵצִ֔יםha.'e.TzimH6086,and putיָשִׂ֑ימוּya.Si.muH7760no fireוְאֵ֖שׁve.'EshH784under:and I will dressאֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה׀'e.'e.SehH6213the otherהָאֶחָ֗דha.'e.ChadH259bullockהַפָּ֣רha.ParH6499,and layוְנָֽתַתִּי֙ve.na.ta.TiH5414iton woodהָ֣עֵצִ֔יםha.'e.TzimH6086,and putאָשִֽׂים׃'a.SimH7760no fireוְאֵ֖שׁve.'EshH784under:
24And callוּקְרָאתֶ֞םu.ke.ra.TemH7121ye on the nameבְּשֵׁ֣םbe.ShemH8034of your godsאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430,and I will callאֶקְרָ֣א'ek.Ra'H7121on the nameבְשֵׁם־ve.shem-H8034of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068:and the Godהָאֱלֹהִ֛יםha.'E.lo.HimH430that answerethיַעֲנֶ֥הya.'a.NehH6030by fireבָאֵ֖שׁva.'EshH784,let him be Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430.And all the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559,It is wellט֥וֹבTovH2896spokenהַדָּבָֽר׃ha.da.VarH1697.
25And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֜הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the prophetsלִנְבִיאֵ֣יlin.vi.'EiH5030of Baalהַבַּ֗עַלha.Ba.'alH1168,Chooseבַּחֲר֨וּba.cha.RuH977you oneהָֽאֶחָד֙ha.'e.ChadH259bullockהַפָּ֤רha.ParH6499for yourselves, and dressוַעֲשׂ֣וּva.'a.SuH6213itfirstרִאשֹׁנָ֔הri.sho.NahH7223; for ye aremanyהָרַבִּ֑יםha.ra.BimH7227;and callוְקִרְאוּ֙ve.kir.'UH7121on the nameבְּשֵׁ֣םbe.ShemH8034of your godsאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430,but putתָשִֽׂימוּ׃ta.Si.muH7760no fireוְאֵ֖שׁve.'EshH784under.
26And they tookוַ֠יִּקְחוּVai.yik.chuH3947the bullockהַפָּ֨רha.ParH6499which was givenנָתַ֣ןna.TanH5414them, and they dressedוַֽיַּעֲשׂוּ֒vai.ya.'a.SuH6213it,and calledוַיִּקְרְא֣וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121on the nameבְשֵׁם־ve.shem-H8034of Baalהַ֠בַּעַלHa.ba.'alH1168from morningמֵהַבֹּ֨קֶרme.ha.Bo.kerH1242even until noonהַצָּהֳרַ֤יִםha.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672,sayingלֵאמֹר֙le.MorH559,O Baalהַבַּ֣עַלha.Ba.'alH1168,hearעֲנֵ֔נוּ'a.Ne.nuH6030us. But there wasnoH369voiceק֖וֹלKolH6963,nor any that answeredעֹנֶ֑ה'o.NehH6030.And they leapedוַֽיְפַסְּח֔וּvay.fa.se.ChuH6452upon the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196which was madeעָשָֽׂה׃'a.SahH6213.
27And it came to pass at noonבַֽצָּהֳרַ֜יִםva.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672,that Elijahאֵלִיָּ֗הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452mockedוַיְהַתֵּ֧לvay.ha.TelH2048them, and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559,Cryקִרְא֤וּkir.'UH7121aloudבְקוֹל־ גָּדוֹל֙ve.kol- ga.dOlH6963H1419: for he isa godאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430;either he is talkingשִׂ֧יחַSi.achH7879,or he is pursuingשִׂ֛יגsigH7873,or he is in a journeyדֶ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870, orperadventureאוּלַ֛י'u.LaiH194he sleepethיָשֵׁ֥ןya.ShenH3463,and must be awakedוְיִקָֽץ׃ve.yi.KatzH3364.
28And they criedוַֽיִּקְרְאוּ֙vai.yik.re.'UH7121aloudבְּק֣וֹל גָּד֔וֹלbe.Kol ga.DolH1419H6963,and cutוַיִּתְגֹּֽדְדוּ֙vai.yit.go.de.DuH1413themselves after their mannerכְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֔םke.mish.pa.TamH4941with knivesבַּחֲרָב֖וֹתba.cha.ra.VotH2719and lancetsוּבָֽרְמָחִ֑יםu.va.re.ma.ChimH7420,till the bloodדָּ֖םdamH1818gushed outשְׁפָךְ־she.fokh-H8210upon them.
29And it came to pass, when middayהַֽצָּהֳרַ֔יִםha.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672was pastכַּעֲבֹ֣רka.'a.VorH5674,and they prophesiedוַיִּֽתְנַבְּא֔וּvai.yit.na.be.'UH5012until the timeof the offeringלַעֲל֣וֹתla.'a.LotH5927of the eveningsacrificeהַמִּנְחָ֑הha.min.ChahH4503, that there wasneither voiceק֥וֹלKolH6963,nor any to answerעֹנֶ֖ה'o.NehH6030,nor any that regardedקָֽשֶׁב׃Ka.shevH7182.
30And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֤הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto all the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971,Come nearגְּשׁ֣וּge.ShuH5066unto me. And all the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971came nearוַיִּגְּשׁ֥וּvai.yi.ge.ShuH5066unto him. And he repairedוַיְרַפֵּ֛אvay.ra.Pe'H7495the altarמִזְבַּ֥חmiz.BachH4196of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068that wasbroken downהֶהָרֽוּס׃he.ha.RusH2040.
31And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֗הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947twelveשְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙she.Teim 'es.RehH6240H8147stonesאֲבָנִ֔ים'a.va.NimH68,according to the numberכְּמִסְפַּ֖רke.mis.ParH4557of the tribesשִׁבְטֵ֣יshiv.TeiH7626of the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290,unto whom the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068came, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478shall be thy nameשְׁמֶֽךָ׃she.Me.khaH8034:
32And with the stonesהָאֲבָנִ֛יםha.'a.va.NimH68he builtוַיִּבְנֶ֧הvai.yiv.NehH1129an altarמִזְבֵּ֖חַmiz.Be.achH4196in the nameבְּשֵׁ֣םbe.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068:and he madeוַיַּ֣עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213a trenchתְּעָלָ֗הte.'a.LahH8585aboutסָבִ֖יבsa.VivH5439the altarלַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃la.miz.Be.achH4196,as great as would containכְּבֵית֙ke.VeitH1004two measuresסָאתַ֣יִםsa.Ta.yimH5429of seedזֶ֔רַעZe.ra'H2233.
33And he putH6186the woodהָֽעֵצִ֑יםha.'e.TzimH6086in orderH6186,and cutוַיְנַתַּח֙vay.na.TachH5408the bullockהַפָּ֔רha.ParH6499in pieces, and laidוַיָּ֖שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760himon the woodהָעֵצִֽים׃ha.'e.TzimH6086,and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Fillמִלְא֨וּmil.'UH4390fourאַרְבָּעָ֤ה'ar.ba.'AhH702barrelsכַדִּים֙kha.DimH3537with waterמַ֔יִםMa.yimH4325,and pourוְיִֽצְק֥וּve.yitz.KuH3332iton the burnt sacrificeהָעֹלָ֖הha.'o.LahH5930,and on the woodהָעֵצִ֑יםha.'e.TzimH6086.

38Then the fireאֵשׁ־'esh-H784of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068fellוַתִּפֹּ֣לva.ti.PolH5307,and consumedוַתֹּ֤אכַלva.To.khalH398the burnt sacrificeהָֽעֹלָה֙ha.'o.LahH5930,and the woodהָ֣עֵצִ֔יםha.'e.TzimH6086,and the stonesהָאֲבָנִ֖יםha.'a.va.NimH68,and the dustהֶעָפָ֑רhe.'a.FarH6083,and licked upלִחֵֽכָה׃li.Che.khahH3897the waterהַמַּ֥יִםha.Ma.yimH4325that wasin the trenchבַּתְּעָלָ֖הba.te.'a.LahH8585.
39And when all the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971sawוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200it,they fellוַֽיִּפְּל֖וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307on their facesפְּנֵיהֶ֑םpe.nei.HemH6440:and they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559,The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, he isthe Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430;the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, he isthe Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.
40And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֨הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559unto them, Takeתִּפְשׂ֣וּ׀tif.SuH8610the prophetsנְבִיאֵ֣יne.vi.'EiH5030of Baalהַבַּ֗עַלha.Ba.'alH1168;let not oneאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376of them escapeיִמָּלֵ֥טyi.ma.LetH4422.And they tookוַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֑וּםvai.yit.pe.SumH8610them: and Elijahאֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙'e.li.Ya.huH452brought them downוַיּוֹרִדֵ֤םvai.yo.ri.DemH3381to the brookנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158Kishonקִישׁ֔וֹןki.ShonH7028,and slewוַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖םvai.yish.cha.TemH7819them there.
