10And fortyוְאַרְבָּעִ֤יםve.'ar.ba.'ImH705and oneוְאַחַת֙ve.'a.ChatH259yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141reignedמָלַ֖ךְma.LakhH4427he in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389.And his mother’sאִמּ֔וֹ'i.MoH517nameוְשֵׁ֣םve.ShemH8034wasMaachahמַעֲכָ֖הma.'a.KhahH4601,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Abishalomאֲבִישָׁלֽוֹם׃'a.vi.sha.LomH53.

11And Asaאָסָ֛א'a.Sa'H609didוַיַּ֧עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213that which wasrightהַיָּשָׁ֖רhai.ya.SharH3477in the eyesבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, as didDavidכְּדָוִ֖דke.da.VidH1732his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1.

12And he took awayוַיַּעֲבֵ֥רvai.ya.'a.VerH5674the sodomitesהַקְּדֵשִׁ֖יםha.ke.de.ShimH6945out of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and removedוַיָּ֙סַר֙vai.Ya.sarH5493all the idolsהַגִּלֻּלִ֔יםha.gi.lu.LimH1544that his fathersאֲבֹתָֽיו׃'a.vo.TavH1had madeעָשׂ֖וּ'a.SuH6213.

13And also Maachahמַעֲכָ֣הma.'a.KhahH4601his motherאִמּ֗וֹ'i.MoH517,even her he removedוַיְסִרֶ֙הָ֙vay.si.Re.haH5493from beingqueenמִגְּבִירָ֔הmi.ge.vi.RahH1377,because she had madeעָשְׂתָ֥ה'a.se.TahH6213an idolמִפְלֶ֖צֶתmif.Le.tzetH4656in a groveלָאֲשֵׁרָ֑הla.'a.she.RahH842;and Asaאָסָא֙'a.Sa'H609destroyedוַיִּכְרֹ֤תvai.yikh.RotH3772her idolמִפְלַצְתָּ֔הּmif.latz.TahH4656,and burntוַיִּשְׂרֹ֖ףvai.yis.RofH8313itby the brookבְּנַ֥חַלbe.Na.chalH5158Kidronקִדְרֽוֹן׃kid.RonH6939.

14But the high placesוְהַבָּמ֖וֹתve.ha.ba.MotH1116were not removedסָ֑רוּSa.ruH5493:nevertheless Asa’sאָסָ֗א'a.Sa'H609heartלְבַב־le.vav-H3824was perfectשָׁלֵ֛םsha.LemH8003with the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068all his daysיָמָֽיו׃ya.MavH3117.

15And he broughtוַיָּבֵא֙vai.ya.Ve'H935in the thingsH6944which his fatherאָבִ֔יו'a.VivH1had dedicatedH6944,and the things which himself had dedicatedH6944,into the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,silverכֶּ֥סֶףKe.sefH3701,and goldוְזָהָ֖בve.za.HavH2091,and vesselsוְכֵלִֽים׃ve.khe.LimH3627.

16And there was warוּמִלְחָמָ֨הu.mil.cha.MahH4421between Asaאָסָ֗א'a.Sa'H609and Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֥אba'.Sha'H1201kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478all their daysיְמֵיהֶֽם׃ye.mei.HemH3117.

17And Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֤אba'.Sha'H1201kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478went upוַיַּ֨עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927against Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and builtוַיִּ֖בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129Ramahהָרָמָ֑הha.ra.MahH7414,that he might not sufferתֵּ֚תtetH5414any to go outיֹצֵ֣אyo.Tze'H3318or come inוָבָ֔אva.Va'H935to Asaלְאָסָ֖אle.'a.Sa'H609kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.

18Then Asaאָ֠סָא'A.sa'H609tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947all the silverהַכֶּ֨סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701and the goldוְהַזָּהָ֜בve.ha.za.HavH2091that wereleftהַֽנּוֹתָרִ֣ים׀ha.no.ta.RimH3498in the treasuresבְּאוֹצְר֣וֹתbe.'otz.RotH214of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and the treasuresאֽוֹצְרוֹת֙'otz.rOtH214of the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,and deliveredוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖םvai.yi.te.NemH5414them into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of his servantsעֲבָדָ֑יו'a.va.DavH5650:and kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֗א'a.Sa'H609sentוַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֞םvai.yish.la.ChemH7971them to Ben–hadadH1130,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Tabrimonטַבְרִמֹּ֤ןtav.ri.MonH2886,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Hezionחֶזְיוֹן֙chez.yOnH2383,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Syriaאֲרָ֔ם'a.RamH758,that dweltהַיֹּשֵׁ֥בhai.yo.ShevH3427at Damascusבְּדַמֶּ֖שֶׂקbe.da.Me.sekH1834,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

20So Ben–hadadH1130hearkenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֨עvai.yish.Ma'H8085unto kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֗א'a.Sa'H609,and sentוַ֠יִּשְׁלַחVai.yish.lachH7971the captainsשָׂרֵ֨יsa.ReiH8269of the hostsהַחֲיָלִ֤יםha.cha.ya.LimH2428which he had against the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and smoteוַיַּךְ֙vai.yaKhH5221Ijonעִיּ֣וֹןi.YonH5859,and Danדָּ֔ןDanH1835,and Abel–beth–maachahH62,and all Cinnerothכִּנְר֔וֹתkin.RotH3672,with all the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִֽי׃naf.ta.LiH5321.

21And it came to pass, when Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201heardכִּשְׁמֹ֣עַkish.Mo.a'H8085thereof,that he left offוַיֶּחְדַּ֕לvai.yech.DalH2308buildingמִבְּנ֖וֹתmi.be.NotH1129of Ramahהָֽרָמָ֑הha.ra.MahH7414,and dweltוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in Tirzahבְּתִרְצָֽה׃be.tir.TzahH8656.

22Then kingוְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֜א'a.Sa'H609made a proclamationהִשְׁמִ֤יעַhish.Mi.a'H8085throughout all Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063; none wasexemptedנָקִ֔יna.KiH5355:and they tookוַיִּשְׂא֞וּvai.yis.'UH5375away the stonesאַבְנֵ֤י'av.NeiH68of Ramahהָֽרָמָה֙ha.ra.MahH7414,and the timberעֵצֶ֔יהָ'e.Tzei.haH6086thereof, wherewith Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֑אba'.Sha'H1201had buildedבָּנָ֖הba.NahH1129;and kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֔א'a.Sa'H609builtוַיִּ֤בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129with them Gebaגֶּ֥בַעGe.va'H1387of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֖ןbin.ya.MinH1144,and Mizpahהַמִּצְפָּֽה׃ha.mitz.PahH4709.
