4For it came to pass, whenלְעֵת֙le.'EtH6256Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010was oldזִקְנַ֣תzik.NatH2209, thathis wivesנָשָׁיו֙na.ShavH802turned awayהִטּ֣וּhi.TuH5186his heartלְבָב֔וֹle.va.VoH3824afterאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310otherאֲחֵרִ֑ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430:and his heartלְבָב֤וֹle.va.VoH3824was not perfectשָׁלֵם֙sha.LemH8003with the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָ֔יו'e.lo.HavH430, as wasthe heartכִּלְבַ֖בkil.VavH3824of Davidדָּוִ֥ידda.VidH1732his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1.

5For Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010wentH3212afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310Ashtorethעַשְׁתֹּ֔רֶת'ash.To.retH6253the goddessאֱלֹהֵ֖י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Zidoniansצִדֹנִ֑יםtzi.do.NimH6722,and afterוְאַחֲרֵ֣יve.'a.cha.ReiH310Milcomמִלְכֹּ֔םmil.KomH4445the abominationשִׁקֻּ֖ץshi.KutzH8251of the Ammonitesעַמֹּנִֽים׃'a.mo.NimH5984.

6And Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֛הshe.lo.MohH8010didוַיַּ֧עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and went not fullyמִלֵּ֛אmi.Le'H4390afterאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, as didDavidכְּדָוִ֥דke.da.VidH1732his fatherאָבִֽיו׃ ס'a.VivH1.

7Then did Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֜הshe.lo.MohH8010buildיִבְנֶ֨הyiv.NehH1129an high placeבָּמָ֗הba.MahH1116for Chemoshלִכְמוֹשׁ֙likh.mo.VoshH3645,the abominationשִׁקֻּ֣ץshi.KutzH8251of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124,in the hillבָּהָ֕רba.HarH2022that isbeforeפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,and for Molechוּלְמֹ֕לֶךְu.le.Mo.lekhH4432,the abominationשִׁקֻּ֖ץshi.KutzH8251of the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּֽוֹן׃a.MonH5983.

8And likewise didעָשָׂ֔ה'a.SahH6213he for all his strangeהַנָּכְרִיּ֑וֹתha.na.khe.ri.YotH5237wivesנָשָׁ֖יוna.ShavH802,which burnt incenseמַקְטִיר֥וֹתmak.ti.RotH6999and sacrificedוּֽמְזַבְּח֖וֹתu.me.za.be.ChotH2076unto their godsלֵאלֹהֵיהֶֽן׃le.lo.hei.HenH430.

9And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068was angryוַיִּתְאַנַּ֥ףvai.yit.'a.NafH599with Solomonבִּשְׁלֹמֹ֑הbish.lo.MohH8010,because his heartלְבָב֗וֹle.va.VoH3824was turnedנָטָ֣הna.TahH5186from the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,which had appearedהַנִּרְאָ֥הha.nir.'AhH7200unto him twiceפַּעֲמָֽיִם׃pa.'a.Ma.yimH6471,

10And had commandedוְצִוָּ֤הve.tzi.VahH6680him concerning this thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697,that he should not goH3212afterאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310otherאֲחֵרִ֑ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430:but he keptשָׁמַ֔רsha.MarH8104not that which the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֖הtzi.VahH6680.

11Wherefore the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֗הlish.lo.MohH8010,Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not keptשָׁמַ֙רְתָּ֙sha.Mar.taH8104my covenantבְּרִיתִ֣יbe.ri.TiH1285and my statutesוְחֻקֹּתַ֔יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708,which I have commandedצִוִּ֖יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680thee, I will surelyקָרֹ֨עַka.Ro.a'H7167rendאֶקְרַ֤ע'ek.Ra'H7167the kingdomהַמַּמְלָכָה֙ha.mam.la.KhahH4467from thee, and will giveוּנְתַתִּ֖יהָu.ne.ta.Ti.haH5414it to thy servantלְעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃le.'av.De.khaH5650.

12Notwithstanding in thy daysבְּיָמֶ֙יךָ֙be.ya.Mei.khaH3117I will not doאֶעֱשֶׂ֔נָּה'e.'e.Se.nahH6213it for Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732thy father’sאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1sake: butI will rendאֶקְרָעֶֽנָּה׃'ek.ra.'E.nahH7167it out of the handמִיַּ֥דmi.YadH3027of thy sonבִּנְךָ֖bin.KhaH1121.

13Howbeitרַ֤קrakH7535I will not rend awayאֶקְרָ֔ע'ek.Ra'H7167all the kingdomהַמַּמְלָכָה֙ha.mam.la.KhahH4467; butwill giveאֶתֵּ֣ן'e.TenH5414oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259tribeשֵׁ֥בֶטShe.vetH7626to thy sonלִבְנֶ֑ךָliv.Ne.khaH1121for Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732my servant’sעַבְדִּ֔י'av.DiH5650sake, and for Jerusalem’sיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389sake which I have chosenבָּחָֽרְתִּי׃ba.Cha.re.tiH977.

14And the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068stirred upוַיָּ֨קֶםvai.Ya.kemH6965an adversaryשָׂטָן֙sa.TanH7854unto Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֔הlish.lo.MohH8010,Hadadהֲדַ֣דha.DadH1908the Edomiteהָאֲדֹמִ֑יha.'a.do.MiH130: he wasof the king’sהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428seedמִזֶּ֧רַעmi.Ze.ra'H2233in Edomבֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃be.'e.DomH123.

15For it came to pass, when Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732was in Edomאֱד֔וֹם'e.DomH123,and Joabיוֹאָב֙yo.'AvH3097the captainשַׂ֣רsarH8269of the hostהַצָּבָ֔אha.tza.Va'H6635was gone upבַּעֲל֗וֹתba.'a.LotH5927to buryלְקַבֵּ֖רle.ka.BerH6912the slainהַחֲלָלִ֑יםha.cha.la.LimH2491,after he had smittenוַיַּ֥ךְvai.YakhH5221every maleזָכָ֖רza.KharH2145in Edomבֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃be.'e.DomH123;

16(For sixשֵׁ֧שֶׁתShe.shetH8337monthsחֳדָשִׁ֛יםcho.da.ShimH2320did Joabיוֹאָ֖בyo.'AvH3097remainיָֽשַׁב־ya.shav-H3427there with all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,until he had cut offהִכְרִ֥יתhikh.RitH3772every maleזָכָ֖רza.KharH2145in Edomבֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃be.'e.DomH123:)

17That Hadadאֲדַ֡ד'a.DadH111fledוַיִּבְרַ֣חvai.yiv.RachH1272,he and certainוַאֲנָשִׁ֨יםva.'a.na.ShimH582Edomitesאֲדֹמִיִּ֜ים'a.do.mi.YimH130of his father’sאָבִ֛יו'a.VivH1servantsמֵעַבְדֵ֥יme.'av.DeiH5650with him, to goלָב֣וֹאla.Vo'H935into Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;Hadadוַהֲדַ֖דva.ha.DadH1908beingyet a littleקָטָֽן׃ka.TanH6996childנַ֥עַרNa.'arH5288.

18And they aroseוַיָּקֻ֙מוּ֙vai.ya.Ku.muH6965out of Midianמִמִּדְיָ֔ןmi.mid.YanH4080,and cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Paranפָּארָ֑ןpa.RanH6290:and they tookוַיִּקְחוּ֩vai.yik.ChuH3947menאֲנָשִׁ֨ים'a.na.ShimH582with them out of Paranמִפָּארָ֗ןmi.pa.RanH6290,and they cameוַיָּבֹ֤אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714,unto Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֣הpar.'OhH6547kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;which gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414him an houseבַ֗יִתVa.yitH1004,and appointedאָ֣מַר'A.marH559him victualsוְלֶ֙חֶם֙ve.Le.chemH3899,and gaveנָ֥תַןNa.tanH5414him landוְאֶ֖רֶץve.'E.retzH776.

19And Hadadהֲדַ֥דha.DadH1908foundוַיִּמְצָא֙vai.yim.Tza'H4672greatמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966favourחֵ֛ןchenH2580in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of Pharaohפַרְעֹ֖הfar.'OhH6547,so that he gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414him to wifeאִשָּׁה֙'i.ShahH802the sisterאֲח֣וֹת'a.ChotH269of his own wifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802,the sisterאֲח֖וֹת'a.ChotH269of Tahpenesתַּחְפְּנֵ֥יסtach.pe.NeisH8472the queenהַגְּבִירָֽה׃ha.ge.vi.RahH1377.
