29In the same way, when you see these things happen, you know that he is near, at the door. 30“I can guarantee this truth: This generation will not disappear until all these things take place. The earth and the heavens will disappear, but my words will never disappear. 32“No one knows when that day or hour will come. Even the angels in heaven and the Son don’t know. Only the Father knows. 33Be careful! Watch! You don’t know the exact time.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 28-37Verses 28-37 We have the application of this prophetic sermon. As to the destruction of Jerusalem, expect it to come very shortly. As to the end of the world, do not inquire when it will come, for of that day and that hour knoweth no man. Christ, as God, could not be ignorant of anything; but the Divine wisdom which dwelt in our Saviour, communicated itself to his human soul according to the Divine pleasure. As to both, our duty is to watch and pray. Our…Read the comment

Like the Old Testament Scriptures (see Isa 40:8), the words of Jesus are eternal. His teachings are more permanent than the basic parts of creation itself.
