Context of John 17:5
3And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. 6"I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5With thine own self - In heaven, granting me a participation of the same honor which the Father has. He had just said that he had glorified God on the earth, he now prays that God would glorify him in heaven. With the glory - With the honor. This word also includes the notion of happiness, or everything which could render the condition blessed. - Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 4-54-5. I have glorified thee on the earth--rather, "I glorified" (for the thing is conceived as now past).
