6Also, when God was ready to bring his greatest Son into the world, he said: ‘All God's angels must worship him.’ 7God speaks about the angels like this: ‘God makes his angels like winds. They serve him like fires that burn brightly.’ But this is what God says to his Son: ‘You are God and you will rule as King for ever! You will rule your kingdom in a completely good way. 9You love everything that is right. And you hate everything that is wrong. Because of that, you will be completely happy. I am your God and I have blessed you. I have chosen you to be greater than others who are with you.’ 10The Bible also says this: ‘Lord, in the beginning you made the earth. With your own power, you also made everything above the earth.

Commentaries on Hebrews 1:8
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 8Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever - If this be said of the Son of God, i.e. Jesus Christ, then Jesus Christ must be God; and indeed the design of the apostle is to prove this. The words here quoted are taken from Psalm 45:6, Psalm 45:7, which the ancient Chaldee paraphrast, and the most intelligent rabbins, refer to the Messiah. On the third verse of this Psalm, Thou art fairer than the children of men, the Targum says: "Thy beauty, משיחא מלכא malca…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 8But unto the Son he saith - In Psalm 45:6-7. The fact that the writer of this Epistle makes this application of the Psalm to the Messiah, proves that it was so applied in his time, or that it would be readily admitted to be applicable to him. It has been generally admitted, by both Jewish and Christian interpreters, to have such a reference. Even those who have doubted its primary applicability to the Messiah, have regarded it as referring to him in a…Read the comment

Thus it was necessary that the apostle should insist, not only on Christ's being the Creator of all things, and therefore of angels themselves, but as being the…Read the comment
