Context of Acts 11:1
The apostles and the other believers in Judea heard that Gentiles had also believed the message from God. 2Peter then returned from Caesarea and he arrived in Jerusalem. Some of the Jews there who were believers spoke against him. These Jews thought that all believers should be circumcised. 3So they said to Peter, ‘You stayed in the house of men who were not circumcised. You even ate meals with them!’

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 1And the apostles and brethren - The Christians who Were in Judea. Heard - So extraordinary an occurrence as that at Caesarea, the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Gentiles, and their reception into the church, would excite attention, and be likely to produce much sensitiveness in regard to the conduct of Peter and those with him.
