Context of John 2:10
8And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. 12After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.

It may mean when they have drunk sufficient, or to satiety; or have drunk so much as to produce hilarity, and to destroy the keenness of their taste, so that they could not readily distinguish the good from that which was worse. But this cannot be adduced in favor of…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 9-10The master of the banquet repeated a common saying. Normally, the best wine was served first, when people could taste it most clearly. Later, wine of lower quality was served. But this time it was different. The wine Jesus made, served last, was the best of all. In the Old Testament, good wine was a sign of God’s blessing(Amos 9:13–14). This miracle showed that the Messiah, God’s greatest blessing, had now come.Read the comment
