1But it came to pass within a while afterמִיָּמִ֜יםmi.ya.MimH3117,in the timeבִּימֵ֣יbi.MeiH3117of wheatחִטִּ֗יםchi.TimH2406harvestקְצִיר־ke.tzir-H7105,that Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֤וֹןshim.ShonH8123visitedוַיִּפְקֹ֨דvai.yif.KodH6485his wifeאִשְׁתּוֹ֙'ish.ToH802with a kidבִּגְדִ֣י עִזִּ֔יםbig.Di 'i.ZimH5795 H1423;and he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,I will go inאָבֹ֥אָה'a.Vo.'ahH935to my wifeאִשְׁתִּ֖י'ish.TiH802into the chamberהֶחָ֑דְרָהhe.Cha.de.rahH2315.But her fatherאָבִ֖יהָ'a.Vi.haH1would not sufferנְתָנ֥וֹne.ta.NoH5414him to go inלָבֽוֹא׃la.Vo'H935.

2And her fatherאָבִ֗יהָ'a.Vi.haH1saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,I verilyאָמֹ֤ר'a.MorH559thoughtאָמַ֙רְתִּי֙'a.Mar.tiH559that thou hadst utterlyשָׂנֹ֣אsa.No'H8130hatedשְׂנֵאתָ֔הּse.ne.TahH8130her; therefore I gaveוָאֶתְּנֶ֖נָּהva.'et.te.Ne.nahH5414her to thy companionלְמֵרֵעֶ֑ךָle.me.re.'E.khaH4828: isnot her youngerהַקְּטַנָּה֙ha.ke.ta.NahH6996sisterאֲחֹתָ֤הּ'a.cho.TahH269fairerטוֹבָ֣הto.VahH2896than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

3And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֔וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559concerning them, Nowהַפַּ֖עַםha.Pa.'amH6471shall I be more blamelessנִקֵּ֥יתִיni.Kei.tiH5352than the Philistinesמִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםmi.pe.lish.TimH6430,though I doעֹשֶׂ֥ה'o.SehH6213them a displeasureרָעָֽה׃ra.'AhH7451.

4And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֔וֹןshim.ShonH8123wentH3212and caughtוַיִּלְכֹּ֖דvai.yil.KodH3920threeשְׁלֹשׁ־she.losh-H7969hundredמֵא֣וֹתme.'otH3967foxesשׁוּעָלִ֑יםshu.'a.LimH7776,and tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947firebrandsלַפִּדִ֗יםla.pi.DimH3940,and turnedוַיֶּ֤פֶןvai.Ye.fenH6437tailזָנָב֙za.NavH2180to tailזָנָ֔בza.NavH2180,and putוַיָּ֨שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760aאֶחָ֛ד'e.ChadH259firebrandלַפִּ֥ידla.PidH3940in the midstבַּתָּֽוֶךְ׃ba.Ta.vekhH8432between twoשְׁנֵ֥יshe.NeiH8147tailsהַזְּנָב֖וֹתha.ze.na.VotH2180.

5And when he had setוַיַּבְעֶר־vai.yav.'er-H1197the brandsבַּלַּפִּידִ֔יםba.la.pi.DimH3940on fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784, he let themgoוַיְשַׁלַּ֖חvay.sha.LachH7971into the standing cornבְּקָמ֣וֹתbe.ka.MotH7054of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430,and burnt upוַיַּבְעֵ֛רvai.yav.'ErH1197both the shocksמִגָּדִ֥ישׁmi.ga.DishH1430,and also the standing cornקָמָ֖הka.MahH7054,with the vineyardsכֶּ֥רֶםKe.remH3754andolivesזָֽיִת׃Za.yitH2132.
