2Ariseק֛וּםkumH6965,goH3212unto Ninevehנִֽינְוֵ֖הnin.VehH5210,that greatהַגְּדוֹלָ֑הha.ge.do.LahH1419cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892,and preachוִּקְרָ֤אvik.Ra'H7121unto it the preachingהַקְּרִיאָ֔הha.ke.ri.'AhH7150that I bidדֹּבֵ֥רdo.VerH1696thee.

3So Jonahיוֹנָ֗הyo.NahH3124aroseוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,and wentH3212unto Ninevehנִֽינְוֶ֖הnin.VehH5210,according to the wordכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.Now Ninevehוְנִֽינְוֵ֗הve.ni.ne.VehH5210was an exceedingלֵֽאלֹהִ֔יםle.lo.HimH430greatגְּדוֹלָה֙ge.do.LahH1419cityעִיר־'ir-H5892of threeשְׁלֹ֥שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969days’יָמִֽים׃ya.MimH3117journeyמַהֲלַ֖ךְma.ha.LakhH4109.

4And Jonahיוֹנָה֙yo.NahH3124beganוַיָּ֤חֶלvai.Ya.chelH2490to enterלָב֣וֹאla.Vo'H935into the cityבָעִ֔ירva.'IrH5892aאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259day’sי֣וֹםYomH3117journeyמַהֲלַ֖ךְma.ha.LakhH4109,and he criedוַיִּקְרָא֙vai.yik.Ra'H7121,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559,Yet fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705daysי֔וֹםYomH3117,and Ninevehוְנִֽינְוֵ֖הve.ni.ne.VehH5210shall be overthrownנֶהְפָּֽכֶת׃neh.Pa.khetH2015.

5So the peopleאַנְשֵׁ֥י'an.SheiH582of Ninevehנִֽינְוֵ֖הnin.VehH5210believedוַֽיַּאֲמִ֛ינוּvai.ya.'a.Mi.nuH539Godבֵּֽאלֹהִ֑יםbe.lo.HimH430,and proclaimedוַיִּקְרְאוּ־vai.yik.re.'u-H7121a fastצוֹם֙tzOmH6685,and putוַיִּלְבְּשׁ֣וּvai.yil.be.ShuH3847on sackclothשַׂקִּ֔יםsa.KimH8242,from the greatestמִגְּדוֹלָ֖םmi.ge.do.LamH1419of them even to the leastקְטַנָּֽם׃ke.ta.NamH6996of them.

6For wordהַדָּבָר֙ha.da.VarH1697cameוַיִּגַּ֤עvai.yi.Ga'H5060unto the kingמֶ֣לֶךMe.lekhH4428of Ninevehנִֽינְוֵ֔הnin.VehH5210,and he aroseוַיָּ֙קָם֙vai.Ya.komH6965from his throneמִכִּסְא֔וֹmi.kis.'OH3678,and he laidוַיַּעֲבֵ֥רvai.ya.'a.VerH5674his robeאַדַּרְתּ֖וֹ'a.dar.ToH155from him, and coveredוַיְכַ֣סvay.KhasH3680himwith sackclothשַׂ֔קSakH8242,and satוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in ashesהָאֵֽפֶר׃ha.'E.ferH665.

7And he caused itto be proclaimedוַיַּזְעֵ֗קvai.yaz.'EkH2199and publishedוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559through Ninevehבְּנִֽינְוֵ֔הbe.ni.ne.VehH5210by the decreeמִטַּ֧עַםmi.Ta.'amH2940of the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and his noblesוּגְדֹלָ֖יוu.ge.do.LavH1419,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Let neither manהָאָדָ֨םha.'a.DamH120nor beastוְהַבְּהֵמָ֜הve.ha.be.he.MahH929,herdהַבָּקָ֣רha.ba.KarH1241nor flockוְהַצֹּ֗אןve.ha.TzonH6629,tasteיִטְעֲמוּ֙yit.'a.MuH2938any thingמְא֔וּמָהme.'U.mahH3972:let them not feedיִרְע֔וּyir.'UH7462,nor drinkיִשְׁתּֽוּ׃yish.TuH8354waterוּמַ֖יִםu.Ma.yimH4325:

8But let manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120and beastוְהַבְּהֵמָ֔הve.ha.be.he.MahH929be coveredוְיִתְכַּסּ֣וּve.yit.ka.SuH3680with sackclothשַׂקִּ֗יםsa.KimH8242,and cryוְיִקְרְא֥וּve.yik.re.'UH7121mightilyבְּחָזְקָ֑הbe.cha.ze.KahH2394unto Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430:yea, let them turnוְיָשֻׁ֗בוּve.ya.Shu.vuH7725every oneאִ֚ישׁ'ishH376from his evilהָֽרָעָ֔הha.ra.'AhH7451wayמִדַּרְכּ֣וֹmi.dar.KoH1870,and from the violenceהֶחָמָ֖סhe.cha.MasH2555that isin their handsבְּכַפֵּיהֶֽם׃be.kha.pei.HemH3709.

9Who can tellיוֹדֵ֣עַyo.De.a'H3045ifGodהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430will turnיָשׁ֔וּבya.ShuvH7725and repentוְנִחַ֖םve.ni.ChamH5162,and turn awayוְשָׁ֛בve.ShavH7725from his fierceמֵחֲר֥וֹןme.cha.RonH2740angerאַפּ֖וֹ'a.PoH639,that we perishנֹאבֵֽד׃no.VedH6not?

10And Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430sawוַיַּ֤רְאvai.Yar'H7200their worksמַ֣עֲשֵׂיהֶ֔םma.'a.sei.HemH4639,that they turnedשָׁ֖בוּSha.vuH7725from their evilהָרָעָ֑הha.ra.'AhH7451wayמִדַּרְכָּ֣םmi.dar.KamH1870;and Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430repentedוַיִּנָּ֣חֶםvai.yi.Na.chemH5162of the evilהָרָעָ֛הha.ra.'AhH7451,that he had saidדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696that he would doלַעֲשׂוֹת־la.'a.sot-H6213unto them; and he didעָשָֽׂה׃'a.SahH6213it not.
