2Thus speakethאָמַ֛ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,This peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971sayאָֽמְר֔וּ'a.me.RuH559,The timeעֶת־'et-H6256is not comeבֹּ֛אbo'H935,the timeעֶת־'et-H6256that the Lord’sיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004should be builtלְהִבָּנֽוֹת׃ פle.hi.ba.NotH1129.

3Then came the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068byבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027Haggaiחַגַּ֥יcha.GaiH2292the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

4Is ittimeהַעֵ֤תha.'EtH6256for you, O ye, to dwellלָשֶׁ֖בֶתla.She.vetH3427in your cieledסְפוּנִ֑יםse.fu.NimH5603housesבְּבָתֵּיכֶ֣םbe.va.tei.KhemH1004,and this houseוְהַבַּ֥יִתve.ha.Ba.yitH1004liewasteחָרֵֽב׃cha.RevH2720?

5Now therefore thus saithאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635;Considerשִׂ֥ימוּ לְבַבְכֶ֖םSi.mu le.vav.KhemH3824 H7760your waysדַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃dar.khei.KhemH1870.

6Ye have sownזְרַעְתֶּ֨םze.ra'.TemH2232muchהַרְבֵּ֜הhar.BehH7235,and bringוְהָבֵ֣אve.ha.Ve'H935in littleמְעָ֗טme.'AtH4592;ye eatאָכ֤וֹל'a.KholH398,but ye have not enoughלְשָׂבְעָה֙le.sa.ve.'AhH7654;ye drinkשָׁת֣וֹsha.ToH8354,but ye are not filled with drinkלְשָׁכְרָ֔הle.sha.khe.RahH7937;ye clotheלָב֖וֹשׁla.Vo.oshH3847you, but there is none warmH2527;and he that earneth wagesוְהַ֨מִּשְׂתַּכֵּ֔רve.Ham.mis.ta.KerH7936earneth wagesמִשְׂתַּכֵּ֖רmis.ta.KerH7936to put itinto a bagצְר֥וֹרtze.RorH6872with holesנָקֽוּב׃ פna.KuvH5344.

8Go upעֲל֥וּ'a.LuH5927to the mountainהָהָ֛רha.HarH2022,and bringוַהֲבֵאתֶ֥םva.ha.ve.TemH935woodעֵ֖ץ'etzH6086,and buildוּבְנ֣וּu.ve.NuH1129the houseהַבָּ֑יִתha.Ba.yitH1004;and I will take pleasureוְאֶרְצֶה־ve.'er.tzeh-H7521in it, and I will be glorifiedוְאֶכָּבְדָ֖הve.'e.ka.vedH3513,saithאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

9Ye lookedפָּנֹ֤הpa.NohH6437for muchהַרְבֵּה֙har.BehH7235, and, lo, it cameto littleלִמְעָ֔טlim.'AtH4592;and when ye broughtוַהֲבֵאתֶ֥םva.ha.ve.TemH935ithomeהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,I did blowוְנָפַ֣חְתִּיve.na.Fach.tiH5301upon it. Why? saithנְאֻם֙ne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635.BecauseH3282of mine houseבֵּיתִי֙bei.TiH1004that iswasteחָרֵ֔בcha.RevH2720,and ye runרָצִ֖יםra.TzimH7323every manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376unto his own houseלְבֵיתֽוֹ׃le.vei.ToH1004.
