6And it came to pass, while there was warהַמִּלְחָמָ֔הha.mil.cha.MahH4421between the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586and the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732,that Abnerוְאַבְנֵ֛רve.'av.NerH74made himself strongמִתְחַזֵּ֖קmit.cha.ZekH2388for the houseבְּבֵ֥יתbe.VeitH1004of Saulשָׁאֽוּל׃sha.'UlH7586.

7And Saulוּלְשָׁא֣וּלu.le.sha.'UlH7586had a concubineפִּלֶ֔גֶשׁpi.Le.geshH6370,whose nameוּשְׁמָ֖הּu.she.MahH8034wasRizpahרִצְפָּ֣הritz.PahH7532,the daughterבַת־vat-H1323of Aiahאַיָּ֑ה'ai.YahH345: and Ish–boshethsaidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559to Abnerאַבְנֵ֔ר'av.NerH74,Wherefore hast thou gone inבָּ֖אתָהBa.tahH935unto my father’sאָבִֽי׃'a.ViH1concubineפִּילֶ֥גֶשׁpi.Le.geshH6370?

8Then was Abnerלְאַבְנֵ֨רle.'av.NerH74veryמְאֹ֜דme.'OdH3966wrothוַיִּחַר֩vai.yi.CharH2734for the wordsדִּבְרֵ֣יdiv.ReiH1697of Ish–boshethH378,and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, AmI a dog’sכֶּ֥לֶבKe.levH3611headהֲרֹ֨אשׁha.RoshH7218,which against Judahלִֽיהוּדָה֒li.hu.DahH3063do shewאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־'e.'e.seh-H6213kindnessחֶ֜סֶדChe.sedH2617this dayהַיּ֨וֹםhai.YomH3117unto the houseבֵּ֣ית׀beitH1004of Saulשָׁא֣וּלsha.'UlH7586thy fatherאָבִ֗יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1,to his brethrenאֶחָיו֙'e.ChavH251,and to his friendsמֵ֣רֵעֵ֔הוּme.re.'E.huH4828,and have not deliveredהִמְצִיתִ֖ךָhim.tzi.Ti.khaH4672thee into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732,that thou chargestוַתִּפְקֹ֥דva.tif.KodH6485me to dayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117with a faultעֲוֹ֥ן'a.VonH5771concerning this womanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802?

9So doיַעֲשֶׂ֤הya.'a.SehH6213Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430to Abnerלְאַבְנֵ֔רle.'av.NerH74,and more alsoיֹסִ֣יףyo.SifH3254,except, as the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hath swornנִשְׁבַּ֤עnish.Ba'H7650to Davidלְדָוִ֔דle.da.VidH1732,even so I doאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־'e.'e.seh-H6213to him;

10To translateלְהַֽעֲבִ֥ירle.ha.'a.VirH5674the kingdomהַמַּמְלָכָ֖הha.mam.la.KhahH4467from the houseמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH1004of Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586,and to set upוּלְהָקִ֞יםu.le.ha.KimH6965the throneכִּסֵּ֣אki.Se'H3678of Davidדָוִ֗דda.VidH1732over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and over Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,from Danמִדָּ֖ןmi.DanH1835even to Beer–shebaH884.

11And he couldיָכֹ֣לya.KholH3201not answerלְהָשִׁ֥יבle.ha.ShivH7725Abnerאַבְנֵ֖ר'av.NerH74a wordדָּבָ֑רda.VarH1697again, because he fearedמִיִּרְאָת֖וֹmi.yir.'a.ToH3372him.

12And Abnerאַבְנֵ֨ר'av.NerH74sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֩vai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֧ים׀mal.'a.KhimH4397to Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732on his behalf, sayingלֵאמֹ֖רle.MorH559, Whose isthe landאָ֑רֶץ'A.retzH776?sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559also,Makeכָּרְתָ֤הka.re.TahH3772thy leagueבְרִֽיתְךָ֙ve.ri.te.KhaH1285with me, and, behold, my handיָדִ֣יya.DiH3027shall bewith thee, to bring aboutלְהָסֵ֥בle.ha.SevH5437all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478unto thee.

14And Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397to Ish–boshethH378Saul’sשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586sonבֶּן־ben-H1121,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Deliverתְּנָ֤הte.NahH5414memy wifeאִשְׁתִּי֙'ish.TiH802Michalמִיכַ֔לmi.KhalH4324,which I espousedאֵרַ֣שְׂתִּי'e.Ras.tiH781to me for an hundredבְּמֵאָ֖הbe.me.'AhH3967foreskinsעָרְל֥וֹתa.re.LotH6190of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃pe.lish.TimH6430.

15And Ish–boshethH378sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֙vai.yish.LachH7971,and tookוַיִּקָּחֶ֖הָvai.yi.ka.Che.haH3947her from herhusbandאִ֑ישׁ'IshH376, evenfrom Phaltielפַּלְטִיאֵ֥לpal.ti.'ElH6409the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Laishלָֽיִשׁ׃lushH3919 H3889.

16And her husbandאִישָׁ֗הּ'i.ShahH376wentH3212with her along weepingוּבָכֹ֛הu.va.KhohH1058 H1980behindאַחֲרֶ֖יהָ'a.cha.Rei.haH310her to Bahurimבַּֽחֻרִ֑יםba.chu.RimH980.Then saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Abnerאַבְנֵ֛ר'av.NerH74unto him, GoH3212,returnשׁ֖וּבshuvH7725.And he returnedוַיָּשֹֽׁב׃vai.ya.ShoH7725.

17And Abnerאַבְנֵ֣ר'av.NerH74had communicationוּדְבַר־u.de.var-H1697 H1961with the eldersזִקְנֵ֥יzik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Ye soughtמְבַקְשִׁ֧יםme.vak.ShimH1245for Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732in timesתְּמוֹל֙te.mOlH8543pastשִׁלְשֹׁ֔םshil.ShomH8032to bekingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428over you:

18Now then doעֲשׂ֑וּ'a.SuH6213it:for the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068hath spokenאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559of Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,By the handבְּיַ֣ד׀be.YadH3027of my servantעַבְדִּ֗י'av.DiH5650Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732I will saveהוֹשִׁ֜יעַho.Shi.a'H3467my peopleעַמִּ֤י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478out of the handמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430,and out of the handוּמִיַּ֖דu.mi.YadH3027of all their enemiesאֹיְבֵיהֶֽם׃'o.ye.vei.HemH341.

19And Abnerאַבְנֵ֖ר'av.NerH74also spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696in the earsבְּאָזְנֵ֣יbe.'a.ze.NeiH241of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֑יןvin.ya.MinH1144:and Abnerאַבְנֵ֗ר'av.NerH74wentH3212also to speakלְדַבֵּ֞רle.da.BerH1696in the earsבְּאָזְנֵ֤יbe.'a.ze.NeiH241of Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732in Hebronבְּחֶבְר֔וֹןbe.chev.RonH2275all that seemedבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869goodH2896to Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and that seemed goodוּבְעֵינֵ֖יu.ve.'ei.NeiH5869to the whole houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִֽן׃bin.ya.MinH1144.

20So Abnerאַבְנֵ֤ר'av.NerH74cameוַיָּבֹ֨אvai.ya.Vo'H935to Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732to Hebronחֶבְר֔וֹןchev.RonH2275,and twentyעֶשְׂרִ֣ים'es.RimH6242menאֲנָשִׁ֑ים'a.na.ShimH582with him. And Davidדָּוִ֧דda.VidH1732madeוַיַּ֨עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213Abnerלְאַבְנֵ֛רle.'av.NerH74and the menוְלַאֲנָשִׁ֥יםve.la.'a.na.ShimH582that werewith him a feastמִשְׁתֶּֽה׃mish.TehH4960.

21And Abnerאַבְנֵ֣ר'av.NerH74saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Davidדָּוִ֡דda.VidH1732,I will ariseאָק֣וּמָה׀'a.Ku.mahH6965and goH3212,and will gatherוְאֶקְבְּצָה֩ve.'ek.be.TzahH6908all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478unto my lordאֲדֹנִ֨י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,that they may makeוְיִכְרְת֤וּve.yikh.re.TuH3772a leagueבְּרִ֔יתbe.RitH1285with thee, and that thou mayest reignוּמָ֣לַכְתָּ֔u.Ma.lakh.taH4427over all that thine heartנַפְשֶׁ֑ךָnaf.She.khaH5315desirethתְּאַוֶּ֖הte.'a.VehH183.And Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732sentH7971Abnerאַבְנֵ֖ר'av.NerH74awayוַיְּשַׁלַּ֥חvai.ye.sha.LachH7971;and he wentH3212in peaceבְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃be.sha.LomH7965.
