1And it came to pass after thisמֵאַ֣חֲרֵיme.'A.cha.reiH310,that Absalomאַבְשָׁל֔וֹם'av.sha.LomH53preparedוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213him chariotsמֶרְכָּבָ֖הmer.ka.VahH4818and horsesוְסֻסִ֑יםve.su.SimH5483,and fiftyוַחֲמִשִּׁ֥יםva.cha.mi.ShimH2572menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376to runרָצִ֥יםra.TzimH7323beforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him.

2And Absalomאַבְשָׁל֔וֹם'av.sha.LomH53rose up earlyוְהִשְׁכִּים֙ve.hish.KimH7925,and stoodוְעָמַ֕דve.'a.MadH5975besideיַ֖דyadH3027the wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the gateהַשָּׁ֑עַרha.Sha.'arH8179: and it was so,that when any manהָאִ֣ישׁha.'IshH376that had a controversyרִיב֩rivH7379cameלָב֨וֹאla.Vo'H935to the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428for judgmentלַמִּשְׁפָּ֗טla.mish.PatH4941,then Absalomאַבְשָׁל֤וֹם'av.sha.LomH53calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121unto him, and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Of whatאֵֽי־'ei-H335cityעִיר֙'irH5892artthou? And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Thy servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃'av.De.khaH5650isof oneמֵאַחַ֥דme.'a.ChadH259of the tribesשִׁבְטֵֽי־shiv.tei-H7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.

3And Absalomאַבְשָׁל֔וֹם'av.sha.LomH53saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Seeרְאֵ֥הre.'EhH7200,thy mattersדְבָרֶ֖ךָde.va.Re.khaH1697aregoodטוֹבִ֣יםto.VimH2896and rightוּנְכֹחִ֑יםu.ne.kho.ChimH5228; but there is no man deputedof the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428to hearוְשֹׁמֵ֥עַve.sho.Me.a'H8085thee.

4Absalomאַבְשָׁל֔וֹם'av.sha.LomH53saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559moreover, Oh that I were madeיְשִׂמֵ֥נִיye.si.Me.niH7760judgeשֹׁפֵ֖טsho.FetH8199in the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776,that every manאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376which hath any suitרִ֥יבrivH7379or causeוּמִשְׁפָּ֖טu.mish.PatH4941might comeיָב֥וֹאya.Vo'H935unto me, and I would do him justiceוְהִצְדַּקְתִּֽיו׃ve.hitz.dak.TivH6663!

5And it was so,that when any manאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376came nighבִּקְרָב־bik.rov-H7126to himto do him obeisanceלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֖תle.hish.ta.cha.VotH7812,he put forthוְשָׁלַ֧חve.sha.LachH7971his handיָד֛וֹya.DoH3027,and tookוְהֶחֱזִ֥יקve.he.che.ZikH2388him, and kissedוְנָ֥שַׁקve.Na.shakH5401him.

6And on this mannerכַּדָּבָ֤רka.da.VarH1697didוַיַּ֨עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213Absalomאַבְשָׁל֜וֹם'av.sha.LomH53to all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478that cameיָבֹ֥אוּya.Vo.'uH935to the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428for judgmentלַמִּשְׁפָּ֖טla.mish.PatH4941:so Absalomאַבְשָׁל֔וֹם'av.sha.LomH53stoleוַיְגַנֵּב֙vay.ga.NevH1589the heartsלֵ֖בlevH3820of the menאַנְשֵׁ֥י'an.SheiH582of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478.

7And it came to pass afterמִקֵּ֖ץmi.KetzH7093fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֑הsha.NahH8141,that Absalomאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙'av.sha.lOmH53saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,I pray thee, let me goH3212and payוַאֲשַׁלֵּ֛םva.'a.sha.LemH7999my vowנִדְרִ֛יnid.RiH5088,which I have vowedנָדַ֥רְתִּיna.Dar.tiH5087unto the Lordלַֽיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068,in Hebronבְּחֶבְרֽוֹן׃be.chev.RonH2275.

8For thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֔'av.de.KhaH5650vowedנָדַ֣רna.DarH5087a vowנֵ֙דֶר֙ne.derH5088while I abodeH3427at Geshurבִגְשׁ֛וּרvig.ShurH1650in Syriaבַּאֲרָ֖םba.'a.RamH758,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,If the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068shall bring me againיְשִׁיבֵ֤נִיye.shi.Ve.niH7725indeed to Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389,then I will serveוְעָבַדְתִּ֖יve.'a.vad.TiH5647the LordיְהוָֽהYah.wehH3068.

9And the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559unto him, GoH3212in peaceבְּשָׁל֑וֹםbe.sha.LomH7965.So he aroseוַיָּ֖קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,and wentH3212to Hebronחֶבְרֽוֹנָה׃ פchev.Ro.nahH2275.
