1And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֧חvai.yish.LachH7971Nathanנָתָ֖ןna.TanH5416unto Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732.And he cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935unto him, and saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, There were twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147menאֲנָשִׁ֗ים'a.na.ShimH582in oneאֶחָ֔ת'e.ChatH259cityבְּעִ֣ירbe.'IrH5892;the oneאֶחָ֥ד'e.ChadH259richעָשִׁ֖יר'a.ShirH6223,and the otherוְאֶחָ֥דve.'e.ChadH259poorרָֽאשׁ׃RashH7326.

2The richלְעָשִׁ֗ירle.'a.ShirH6223manhad exceedingמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966manyהַרְבֵּ֥הhar.BehH7235flocksצֹ֥אןtzonH6629and herdsוּבָקָ֖רu.va.KarH1241:

3But the poorוְלָרָ֣שׁve.la.RashH7326manhad nothing, save oneאַחַ֤ת'a.ChatH259littleקְטַנָּה֙ke.ta.NahH6996ewe lambכִּבְשָׂ֨הkiv.SahH3535,which he had boughtקָנָ֔הka.NahH7069and nourished upוַיְחַיֶּ֕הָvay.chai.Ye.haH2421:and it grew upוַתִּגְדַּ֥לva.tig.DalH1431togetherיַחְדָּ֑וyach.DavH3162with him, and with his childrenבָּנָ֖יוba.NavH1121;it did eatתֹאכַ֜לto.KhalH398of his own meatמִפִּתּ֨וֹmi.pi.ToH6595,and drankתִשְׁתֶּה֙tish.TehH8354of his own cupוּמִכֹּס֤וֹu.mi.ko.SoH3563,and layתִשְׁכָּ֔בtish.KavH7901in his bosomוּבְחֵיק֣וֹu.ve.chei.KoH2436,and was unto him as a daughterכְּבַֽת׃ke.VatH1323.

4And there cameוַיָּ֣בֹאvai.Ya.vo'H935a travellerהֵלֶךְ֮he.leKhH1982unto the richהֶֽעָשִׁיר֒he.'a.ShirH6223manלְאִ֣ישׁle.'IshH376,and he sparedוַיַּחְמֹ֗לvai.yach.MolH2550to takeלָקַ֤חַתla.Ka.chatH3947of his own flockמִצֹּאנוֹ֙mi.tzo.NoH6629and of his own herdוּמִבְּקָר֔וֹu.mi.be.ka.RoH1241,to dressלַעֲשׂ֕וֹתla.'a.SotH6213for the wayfaring manלָאֹרֵ֖חַla.'o.Re.achH732that was comeהַבָּא־ha.ba'-H935unto him; but tookוַיִּקַּ֗חvai.yi.KachH3947the poorהָרָ֔אשׁha.RashH7326man’sהָאִ֣ישׁha.'IshH376lambכִּבְשַׂת֙kiv.SatH3535,and dressedוַֽיַּעֲשֶׂ֔הָvai.ya.'a.Se.haH6213it for the manלָאִ֖ישׁla.'IshH376that was comeהַבָּ֥אha.Ba'H935to him.

5And David’sדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732angerאַ֥ף'afH639was greatlyמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966kindledוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against the manבָּאִ֖ישׁba.'IshH376;and he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559to Nathanנָתָ֔ןna.TanH5416, Asthe Lordיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068livethחַי־chai-H2416,the manהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376that hath doneהָעֹשֶׂ֥הha.'o.SehH6213this thingshall surelyבֶן־ven-H1121dieמָ֔וֶתMa.vetH4194:

6And he shall restoreיְשַׁלֵּ֣םye.sha.LemH7999the lambהַכִּבְשָׂ֖הha.kiv.SahH3535fourfoldאַרְבַּעְתָּ֑יִם'ar.ba'.Ta.yimH706,becauseעֵ֗קֶב'E.kevH6118he didעָשָׂה֙'a.SahH6213this thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697,and becauseH834he had no pityחָמָֽל׃cha.MalH2550.

7And Nathanנָתָ֛ןna.TanH5416saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732, Thou artthe manהָאִ֑ישׁha.'IshH376.Thus saithאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,I anointedמְשַׁחְתִּ֤יךָֽme.shach.Ti.khaH4886thee kingלְמֶ֙לֶךְ֙le.Me.lekhH4428over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and I deliveredהִצַּלְתִּ֖יךָhi.tzal.Ti.khaH5337thee out of the handמִיַּ֥דmi.YadH3027of Saulשָׁאֽוּל׃sha.'UlH7586;

8And I gaveוָאֶתְּנָ֨הva.'e.te.NahH5414thee thy master’sאֲדֹנֶ֗יךָ'a.do.Nei.khaH113houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,and thy master’sאֲדֹנֶ֙יךָ֙'a.do.Nei.khaH113wivesנְשֵׁ֤יne.SheiH802into thy bosomבְּחֵיקֶ֔ךָbe.chei.Ke.chaH2436,and gaveוָאֶתְּנָ֣הva.'e.te.NahH5414thee the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478and of Judahוִֽיהוּדָ֑הvi.hu.DahH3063; and if that had beentoo littleמְעָ֔טme.'AtH4592,I would moreover have givenוְאֹסִ֥פָהve.'o.Si.fahH3254unto thee suchH2007and such thingsH2007.
