13And Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֣הוּ'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Haggithחַגֵּ֗יתcha.GeitH2294cameוַיָּבֹ֞אvai.ya.Vo'H935to Bath–shebaH1339the motherאֵם־'em-H517of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010.And she saidוַתֹּ֖אמֶרva.To.merH559,Comestבֹּאֶ֑ךָbo.'E.khaH935thou peaceablyהֲשָׁל֣וֹםha.sha.LomH7965?And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Peaceablyשָׁלֽוֹם׃sha.LomH7965.

14He saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559moreover, I have somewhat to sayדָּבָ֥רda.VarH1697unto thee. And she saidוַתֹּ֖אמֶרva.To.merH559,Say onדַּבֵּֽר׃da.BerH1696.

15And he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Thou knowestיָדַ֙עַתְּ֙ya.Da.'atH3045that the kingdomהַמְּלוּכָ֔הha.me.lu.KhahH4410was mine, and thatall Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478setשָׂ֧מוּSa.muH7760their facesפְּנֵיהֶ֖םpe.nei.HemH6440on me, that I should reignלִמְלֹ֑ךְlim.LokhH4427:howbeit the kingdomהַמְּלוּכָה֙ha.me.lu.KhahH4410is turned aboutוַתִּסֹּ֤בva.ti.SoH5437,and is become my brother’sלְאָחִ֔יle.'a.ChiH251:for it was his from the Lordמֵיְהוָ֖הme.Yah.wehH3068.

16And now I askשֹׁאֵ֣לsho.'ElH7592oneאַחַת֙'a.ChatH259petitionשְׁאֵלָ֤הshe.'e.LahH7596of thee, denyתָּשִׁ֖בִיta.Shi.viH7725meפָּנָ֑יpa.NaiH6440not. And she saidוַתֹּ֥אמֶרva.To.merH559unto him, Say onדַּבֵּֽר׃da.BerH1696.

17And he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Speakאִמְרִי־'im.ri-H559,I pray thee, unto Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֣הlish.lo.MohH8010the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, (for he will not sayH7725theeפָּנָ֑יִךְpa.Na.yikhH6440nayH7725,)that he giveוְיִתֶּן־ve.yi.ten-H5414me Abishagאֲבִישַׁ֥ג'a.vi.ShagH49the Shunammiteהַשּׁוּנַמִּ֖יתha.shu.na.MitH7767to wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

18And Bath–shebaH1339saidוַתֹּ֥אמֶרva.To.merH559,Wellט֑וֹבTovH2896;I will speakאֲדַבֵּ֥ר'a.da.BerH1696for thee unto the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428.

19Bath–shebaH1339therefore wentוַתָּבֹ֤אva.ta.Vo'H935unto kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010,to speakלְדַבֶּר־le.da.ber-H1696unto him for Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138.And the kingהַמֶּ֨לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428rose upוַיָּקָם֩vai.ya.KamH6965to meetH7125her, and bowedוַיִּשְׁתַּ֣חוּvai.yish.Ta.chuH7812himself unto her, and sat downוַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙vai.Ye.shevH3427on his throneכִּסְא֔וֹkis.'OH3678,and caused a seatכִּסֵּא֙ki.Se'H3678to be setוַיָּ֤שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760for the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428motherלְאֵ֣םle.'EmH517;and she satוַתֵּ֖שֶׁבva.Te.shevH3427on his right handלִֽימִינֽוֹ׃li.mi.noH3225.

20Then she saidוַתֹּ֗אמֶרva.To.merH559,I desireשֹׁאֶ֣לֶתsho.'E.letH7592oneאַחַ֤ת'a.ChatH259smallקְטַנָּה֙ke.ta.NahH6996petitionשְׁאֵלָ֨הshe.'e.LahH7596of thee; I pray thee,sayH7725meפָּנָ֑יpa.NaiH6440not nayH7725.And the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559unto her, Ask onשַׁאֲלִ֣יsha.'a.LiH7592,my motherאִמִּ֔י'i.MiH517:for I will not sayH7725theeפָּנָֽיִךְ׃pa.Na.yikhH6440nayH7725.

21And she saidוַתֹּ֕אמֶרva.To.merH559,Let Abishagאֲבִישַׁ֣ג'a.vi.ShagH49the Shunammiteהַשֻּׁנַמִּ֑יתha.shu.na.MitH7767be givenיֻתַּ֖ןyu.TanH5414to Adonijahלַאֲדֹנִיָּ֥הוּla.'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138thy brotherאָחִ֖יךָ'a.Chi.khaH251to wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

23Then kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010swareוַיִּשָּׁבַע֙vai.yi.sha.Va'H7650by the Lordבַּֽיהוָ֖הba.Yah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430doיַֽעֲשֶׂה־ya.'a.seh-H6213so to me, and more alsoיוֹסִ֔יףyo.SifH3254,if Adonijahאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ'a.Do.ni.Ya.huH138have not spokenדִּבֶּר֙di.BerH1696this wordהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697against his own lifeבְנַפְשׁ֔וֹve.naf.ShoH5315.

24Now therefore, asthe Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068livethחַי־chai-H2416,which hath establishedהֱכִינַ֗נִיhe.khi.Na.niH3559me, and setוַיּֽוֹשִׁיבַ֙נִי֙vai.yo.shi.vi.niH3427me on the throneכִּסֵּא֙ki.Se'H3678of Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1,and who hath madeעָֽשָׂה־'a.sah-H6213me an houseבַּ֖יִתBa.yitH1004,as he promisedדִּבֵּ֑רdi.BerH1696,Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138shall be put to deathיוּמַ֖תyu.MatH4191this dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117.

25And kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֙vai.yish.LachH7971by the handבְּיַ֖דbe.YadH3027of Benaiahבְּנָיָ֣הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֑עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077;and he fellוַיִּפְגַּע־vai.yif.ga'-H6293upon him that he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃ סvai.ya.MotH4191.

26And unto Abiatharוּלְאֶבְיָתָ֨רu.le.'ev.ya.TarH54the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,GetH3212thee to Anathothעֲנָתֹת֙'a.na.TotH6068,unto thine own fieldsשָׂדֶ֔יךָsa.Dei.khaH7704; for thou artworthyאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of deathמָ֖וֶתMa.vetH4194:but I will not at this timeוּבַיּ֨וֹםu.vai.YomH3117put thee to deathאֲמִיתֶ֗ךָ'a.mi.Te.khaH4191,because thou barestנָשָׂ֜אתָna.Sa.taH5375the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordאֲדֹנָ֤י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהֹוִה֙Yah.wehH3069beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1,and because thou hast been afflictedהִתְעַנִּ֔יתָhit.'a.Ni.taH6031in all wherein my fatherאָבִֽי׃'a.ViH1was afflictedהִתְעַנָּ֖הhit.'a.NahH6031.

27So Solomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010thrust outוַיְגָ֤רֶשׁvay.Ga.reshH1644Abiatharאֶבְיָתָ֔ר'ev.ya.TarH54from being priestכֹּהֵ֖ןko.HenH3548unto the Lordלַֽיהוָ֑הla.Yah.wehH3068;that he might fulfilלְמַלֵּא֙le.ma.Le'H4390the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,which he spakeדִּבֶּ֛רdi.BerH1696concerning the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Eliעֵלִ֖י'e.LiH5941in Shilohבְּשִׁלֹֽה׃ פbe.shi.LohH7887.

28Then tidingsוְהַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ve.ha.she.mu.'AhH8052cameבָּ֣אָהBa.'ahH935to Joabיוֹאָ֔בyo.'AvH3097:for Joabיוֹאָ֗בyo.'AvH3097had turnedנָטָה֙na.TahH5186afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּ֔ה'a.do.ni.YahH138,though he turnedנָטָ֑הna.TahH5186not afterוְאַחֲרֵ֥יve.'a.cha.ReiH310Absalomאַבְשָׁל֖וֹם'av.sha.LomH53.And Joabיוֹאָב֙yo.'AvH3097fledוַיָּ֤נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127unto the tabernacleאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and caught holdוַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖קvai.ya.cha.ZekH2388on the hornsבְּקַרְנ֥וֹתbe.kar.NotH7161of the altarהַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ha.miz.Be.achH4196.

29And it was toldוַיֻּגַּ֞דvai.yu.GadH5046kingלַמֶּ֣לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֗הshe.lo.MohH8010that Joabיוֹאָב֙yo.'AvH3097was fledנָ֤סnasH5127unto the tabernacleאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068; and, behold, he isbyאֵ֣צֶל'E.tzelH681the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַha.miz.Be.achH4196.Then Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֜הshe.lo.MohH8010sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971Benaiahבְּנָיָ֧הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֛עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077,sayingלֵאמֹ֖רle.MorH559,GoH3212,fallפְּגַע־pe.ga'-H6293upon him.

30And Benaiahבְנָיָ֜הוּve.na.Ya.huH1141cameוַיָּבֹ֨אvai.ya.Vo'H935to the tabernacleאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Thus saithאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428,Come forthצֵ֔אTze'H3318.And he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559,Nay; but I will dieאָמ֑וּת'a.MutH4191here. And Benaiahבְּנָיָ֤הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141broughtH7725the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428wordדָּבָ֣רda.VarH1697againH7725,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Thus saidדִבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696Joabיוֹאָ֖בyo.'AvH3097,and thus he answeredעָנָֽנִי׃'a.Na.niH6030me.

31And the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Doעֲשֵׂה֙'a.SehH6213as he hath saidדִּבֶּ֔רdi.BerH1696,and fallוּפְגַע־u.fe.ga'-H6293upon him, and buryוּקְבַרְתּ֑וֹu.ke.var.ToH6912him; that thou mayest take awayוַהֲסִירֹ֣תָ׀va.ha.si.Ro.taH5493the innocentחִנָּ֗םchi.NamH2600bloodדְּמֵ֣יde.MeiH1818,which Joabיוֹאָ֔בyo.'AvH3097shedשָׁפַ֣ךְsha.FakhH8210,from me, and from the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of my fatherאָבִֽי׃'a.ViH1.

32And the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068shall returnוְהֵשִׁיב֩ve.he.ShivH7725his bloodדָּמ֜וֹda.MoH1818upon his own headרֹאשׁ֗וֹro.ShoH7218,who fellפָּגַ֣עpa.Ga'H6293upon twoבִּשְׁנֵֽי־bish.nei-H8147menאֲ֠נָשִׁים'A.na.shimH582more righteousצַדִּקִ֨יםtza.di.KimH6662and betterוְטֹבִ֤יםve.to.VimH2896than he, and slewוַיַּהַרְגֵ֣םvai.ya.har.GemH2026them with the swordבַּחֶ֔רֶבba.Che.revH2719,my fatherוְאָבִ֥יve.'a.ViH1Davidדָוִ֖דda.VidH1732not knowingיָדָ֑עya.Da'H3045thereof, to wit,Abnerאַבְנֵ֤ר'av.NerH74the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nerנֵר֙nerH5369,captainשַׂר־sar-H8269of the hostצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and Amasaעֲמָשָׂ֥א'a.ma.Sa'H6021the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jetherיֶ֖תֶרYe.terH3500,captainשַׂר־sar-H8269of the hostצְבָ֥אtze.Va'H6635of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.

33Their bloodדְמֵיהֶם֙de.mei.HemH1818shall therefore returnוְשָׁ֤בוּve.Sha.vuH7725upon the headבְּרֹ֣אשׁbe.RoshH7218of Joabיוֹאָ֔בyo.'AvH3097,and upon the headוּבְרֹ֥אשׁu.ve.RoshH7218of his seedזַרְע֖וֹzar.'OH2233for everלְעֹלָ֑םle.'o.LamH5769:but upon Davidוּלְדָוִ֡דu.le.da.VidH1732,and upon his seedוּ֠לְזַרְעוֹu.le.zar.'oH2233,and upon his houseוּלְבֵית֨וֹu.le.vei.ToH1004,and upon his throneוּלְכִסְא֜וֹu.le.khis.'OH3678,shall there be peaceשָׁל֛וֹםsha.LomH7965forעַד־'ad-H5704everעוֹלָ֖םo.LamH5769from the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

34So Benaiahבְּנָיָ֙הוּ֙be.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehoiadaיְה֣וֹיָדָ֔עye.Ho.ya.Da'H3077went upוַיַּ֗עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927,and fellוַיִּפְגַּע־vai.yif.ga'-H6293upon him, and slewוַיְמִתֵ֑הוּvay.mi.Te.huH4191him: and he was buriedוַיִּקָּבֵ֥רvai.yi.ka.VerH6912in his own houseבְּבֵית֖וֹbe.vei.ToH1004in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

35And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428putוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414Benaiahבְּנָיָ֧הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֛עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077in his room over the hostהַצָּבָ֑אha.tza.Va'H6635:and Zadokצָד֤וֹקtza.DokH6659the priestהַכֹּהֵן֙ha.ko.HenH3548did the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428putנָתַ֣ןna.TanH5414in the room of Abiatharאֶבְיָתָֽר׃'ev.ya.TarH54.

36And the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971and calledוַיִּקְרָ֣אvai.yik.Ra'H7121for Shimeiלְשִׁמְעִ֔יle.shim.'IH8096,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Buildבְּֽנֵה־be.neh-H1129thee an houseבַ֙יִת֙va.yitH1004in Jerusalemבִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םbi.Ru.sha.LimH3389,and dwellוְיָשַׁבְתָּ֖ve.ya.shav.TaH3427there, and go not forthתֵצֵ֥אte.Tze'H3318thence any whitherH575.

37For it shall be, thaton the dayבְּי֣וֹםbe.YomH3117thou goest outצֵאתְךָ֗tze.te.KhaH3318,and passest overוְעָֽבַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.var.TaH5674the brookנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158Kidronקִדְר֔וֹןkid.RonH6939,thou shalt knowיָדֹ֥עַya.Do.a'H3045for certainתֵּדַ֖עte.Da'H3045that thou shalt surelyמ֣וֹתMotH4191dieתָּמ֑וּתta.MutH4191:thy bloodדָּמְךָ֖da.me.KhaH1818shall be upon thine own headבְרֹאשֶֽׁךָ׃ve.ro.She.khaH7218.

38And Shimeiשִׁמְעִ֤יshim.'IH8096saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the kingלַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙la.Me.lekhH4428,The sayingהַדָּבָ֔רha.da.VarH1697isgoodט֣וֹבTovH2896:as my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428hath saidדִּבֶּר֙di.BerH1696,so will thy servantעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ'av.De.khaH5650doיַעֲשֶׂ֣הya.'a.SehH6213.And Shimeiשִׁמְעִ֛יshim.'IH8096dweltוַיֵּ֧שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389manyרַבִּֽים׃ סra.BimH7227daysיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117.

39And it came to pass at the endמִקֵּץ֙mi.KetzH7093of threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969yearsשָׁנִ֔יםsha.NimH8141,that twoשְׁנֵֽי־she.nei-H8147of the servantsעֲבָדִים֙'a.va.DimH5650of Shimeiלְשִׁמְעִ֔יle.shim.'IH8096ran awayוַיִּבְרְח֤וּvai.yiv.re.ChuH1272unto Achishאָכִ֥ישׁ'a.KhishH397sonבֶּֽן־ben-H1121of Maachahמַעֲכָ֖הma.'a.KhahH4601kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Gathגַּ֑תGatH1661.And they toldוַיַּגִּ֤ידוּvai.ya.Gi.duH5046Shimeiלְשִׁמְעִי֙le.shim.'IH8096,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Behold, thy servantsעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650bein Gathבְּגַֽת׃be.GatH1661.

40And Shimeiשִׁמְעִ֗יshim.'IH8096aroseוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,and saddledוַֽיַּחֲבֹשׁ֙vai.ya.cha.VoshH2280his assחֲמֹר֔וֹcha.mo.RoH2543,and wentH3212to Gathגַּ֙תָה֙ga.tahH1661to Achishאָכִ֔ישׁ'a.KhishH397to seekלְבַקֵּ֖שׁle.va.KeshH1245his servantsעֲבָדָ֑יו'a.va.DavH5650:and Shimeiשִׁמְעִ֔יshim.'IH8096wentH3212,and broughtוַיָּבֵ֥אvai.ya.Ve'H935his servantsעֲבָדָ֖יו'a.va.DavH5650from Gathמִגַּֽת׃mi.GatH1661.

41And it was toldוַיֻּגַּ֖דvai.yu.GadH5046Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֑הlish.lo.MohH8010that Shimeiשִׁמְעִ֧יshim.'IH8096had goneהָלַ֨ךְha.LakhH1980from Jerusalemמִירוּשָׁלִַ֛םmi.ru.sha.LimH3389to Gathגַּ֖תgatH1661,and was come againוַיָּשֹֽׁב׃vai.ya.ShoH7725.

45And kingוְהַמֶּ֥לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֖הshe.lo.MohH8010shall beblessedבָּר֑וּךְba.RukhH1288,and the throneוְכִסֵּ֣אve.khi.Se'H3678of Davidדָוִ֗דda.VidH1732shall be establishedנָכ֛וֹןna.KhonH3559beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068forעַד־'ad-H5704everעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769.

46So the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428commandedוַיְצַ֣וvay.TzavH6680Benaiahבְּנָיָ֙הוּ֙be.na.Ya.huH1141the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jehoiadaיְה֣וֹיָדָ֔עye.Ho.ya.Da'H3077;which went outוַיֵּצֵ֕אvai.ye.Tze'H3318,and fellוַיִּפְגַּע־vai.yif.ga'-H6293upon him, that he diedוַיָּמֹ֑תvai.ya.MotH4191.And the kingdomוְהַמַּמְלָכָ֥הve.ha.mam.la.KhahH4467was establishedנָכ֖וֹנָהna.Kho.nahH3559in the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃she.lo.MohH8010.
