12So Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379and all the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971cameוַיָּב֨וֹאvai.ya.vov'H935to Rehoboamרְחַבְעָ֖םre.chav.'AmH7346the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑יha.she.li.ShiH7992dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,as the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428had appointedדִּבֶּ֤רdi.BerH1696,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Come to me againשׁ֥וּבוּShu.vuH7725the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִֽׁי׃ha.she.li.ShiH7992dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117.

13And the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971roughlyקָשָׁ֑הka.ShahH7186,and forsookוַֽיַּעֲזֹ֛בvai.ya.'a.ZoH5800the old men’sהַזְּקֵנִ֖יםha.ze.ke.NimH2205counselעֲצַ֥ת'a.TzatH6098that they gaveיְעָצֻֽהוּ׃ye.'a.Tzu.huH3289him;

14And spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֣רvay.da.BerH1696to them after the counselכַּעֲצַ֤תka.'a.TzatH6098of the young menהַיְלָדִים֙hay.la.DimH3206,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,My fatherאָבִי֙'a.ViH1madeH3513your yokeעֻלְּכֶ֔ם'u.le.KhemH5923heavyהִכְבִּ֣ידhikh.BidH3513,and I will addאֹסִ֣יף'o.SifH3254to your yokeעֻלְּכֶ֑ם'u.le.KhemH5923:my fatherאָבִ֗י'a.ViH1alsochastisedיִסַּ֤רyi.SarH3256you with whipsבַּשּׁוֹטִ֔יםba.sho.TimH7752,but I will chastiseאֲיַסֵּ֥ר'a.ya.SerH3256you with scorpionsבָּעַקְרַבִּֽים׃ba.'ak.ra.BimH6137.

15Wherefore the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428hearkenedשָׁמַ֥עsha.Ma'H8085not unto the peopleהָעָ֑םha.'AmH5971;for the causeסִבָּה֙si.BahH5438was from the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,that he might performהָקִ֣יםha.KimH6965his sayingדְּבָר֗וֹde.va.RoH1697,which the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068spakeדִּבֶּ֤רdi.BerH1696byבְּיַד֙be.YadH3027Ahijahאֲחִיָּ֣ה'a.chi.YahH281the Shiloniteהַשִּׁילֹנִ֔יha.shi.lo.NiH7888unto Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֖םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nebatנְבָֽט׃ne.VatH5028.

17But as forthe childrenוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478which dweltהַיֹּשְׁבִ֖יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427in the citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,Rehoboamרְחַבְעָֽם׃ פre.chav.'AmH7346reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427over them.
