Context of Luke 19:30
28After Jesus had given this illustration, he continued on his way to Jerusalem. 29When he came near Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives (as it was called), Jesus sent two of his disciples ahead of him. He said to them, “Go into the village ahead of you. As you enter, you will find a young donkey tied there. No one has ever sat on it. Untie it, and bring it. 31If anyone asks you why you are untying it, say that the Lord needs it.” 32The men Jesus sent found it as he had told them.

Christ's triumphs, and his disciples' joyful praises, vex proud Pharisees, who are enemies to him and to his kingdom. But Christ, as he despises the contempt of the proud, so he accepts the praises of the humble. Pharisees would silence the praises of Christ, but they cannot; for as God can out of stones raise up…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 30You will see a young donkey: It is unclear whether Jesus had arranged for the donkey ahead of time or whether he used divine knowledge.
