Context of Matthew 9:25

23When Yeshua came into the synagogue leader’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24He said, “Go away, for the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping.” And they began jeering at Him. But when the crowd had been cleared out, He went in and took her hand, and the girl got up. 26And news of this spread all around that region. 27As Yeshua went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Ben-David, have mercy on us!”

• Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 25He - took her by the hand, and the maid arose - The fountain of life thus communicating its vital energy to the dead body. Where death has already taken place, no power but that of the great God can restore to life; in such a case, vain is the help of man. So the soul that is dead in trespasses and sins - that is, sentenced to death because of transgression - and is thus dead in law, can only be restored to spiritual life by the mighty power of the Lord…Read the comment

See the notes at Matthew 4:23. And worshipped him - That is, fell down before him, or expressed his respect for him by a token of profound…Read the comment
• Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 18-26Verses 18-26 The death of our relations should drive us to Christ, who is our life. And it is high honour to the greatest rulers to attend on the Lord Jesus; and those who would receive mercy from Christ, must honour him. The variety of methods Christ took in working his miracles, perhaps was because of the different frames and tempers of mind, which those were in who came to him, and which He who searches the heart perfectly knew.
