Context of Matthew 9:26
24He said, “Go away, for the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping.” And they began jeering at Him. 25But when the crowd had been cleared out, He went in and took her hand, and the girl got up. And news of this spread all around that region. 27As Yeshua went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Ben-David, have mercy on us!” 28When He went into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Yeshua said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Master,” they said to Him.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 26And the fame hereof went abroad - In this business Jesus himself scarcely appears, but the work effected by his sovereign power is fully manifested; to teach us that it is the business of a successful preacher of the Gospel to conceal himself as much as possible, that God alone may have the glory of his own grace. This is a proper miracle, and a full exemplification of the unlimited power of Christ.Read the comment

And it is high honour to the greatest rulers to attend on the Lord Jesus; and those who would receive mercy from Christ, must honour him. The variety of methods Christ took in working his miracles, perhaps was because of the different frames and tempers of mind, which those were in who came to him, and which He who searches the heart perfectly knew.
