Context of Luke 19:15
13And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said to them, Occupy till I come. 14But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he had returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17And he said to him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 11-27Verses 11-27 This parable is like that of the talents, Mt 25. Those that are called to Christ, he furnishes with gifts needful for their business; and from those to whom he gives power, he expects service. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal, 1Co 12:7. And as every one has received the gift, so let him minister the same, 1Pe 4:10.
