Context of Mark 1:44
42And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 43And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 45But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

Kneeling down to him - He kneeled and inclined his face to the ground, in token of deep humiliation and earnest entreaty. Compare Luke 5:12. If thou wilt - This was an acknowledgment of the almighty power of Jesus, and an appeal to his benevolence. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 40-45Verses 40-45 We have here Christ's cleansing of a leper. It teaches us to apply to the Saviour with great humility, and with full submission to his will, saying, "Lord, if thou wilt," without any doubt of Christ's readiness to help the distressed. See also what to expect from Christ; that according to our faith it shall be to us. The poor leper said, If thou wilt. Christ readily wills favours to those who readily refer themselves to his will. Christ would…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 43-45Jesus instructed the man to visit the priest to confirm his healing and make the required sacrificial offering. This would act as public proof of his healing. Despite the severe warning Jesus gave, the man went and told people what happened to him. As a result, Jesus could not enter the town and had to preach in more remote places. Jesus became widely known, and people from many places came to see him (3:7–8).Read the comment
