Context of 1 Kings 22:46
44And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel. 45Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land. 47There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king. 48Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion–geber.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 46The remnant of the sodomites - הקדש of the consecrated persons; or it may rather apply here to the system of pollution, effeminacy, and debauch. He destroyed the thing itself; the abominations of Priapus, and the rites of Venus, Baal, and Ashtaroth. No more of that impure worship was to be found in Judea.Read the comment

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 46Jehoshaphat deserves credit for getting rid of religious prostitutes. His father, Asa, had banned them (1 Kings 15:12), but they still existed. These prostitutes were likely based at pagan shrines that Asa did not remove (1 Kings 15:14).Read the comment
