2Because they metקִדְּמ֛וּki.de.MuH6923not the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478with breadבַּלֶּ֣חֶםba.Le.chemH3899and with waterוּבַמָּ֑יִםu.va.Ma.yimH4325,but hiredוַיִּשְׂכֹּ֨רvai.yis.KorH7936Balaamבִּלְעָם֙bil.'AmH1109against them, that he should curseלְקַֽלְל֔וֹle.ka.LoH7043them: howbeit our Godאֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430turnedוַיַּהֲפֹ֧ךְvai.ya.ha.FokhH2015the curseהַקְּלָלָ֖הha.ke.la.LahH7045into a blessingלִבְרָכָֽה׃liv.ra.KhahH1293.

3Now it came to pass, when they had heardכְּשָׁמְעָ֣םke.sha.me.'AmH8085the lawהַתּוֹרָ֑הha.to.RahH8451,that they separatedוַיַּבְדִּ֥ילוּvai.yav.Di.luH914from Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃mi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478all the mixed multitudeעֵ֖רֶב'E.revH6154.

4And beforeוְלִפְנֵ֣יve.lif.NeiH6440this, Eliashibאֶלְיָשִׁיב֙'el.ya.ShivH475the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548,having the oversightנָת֖וּןna.TunH5414of the chamberבְּלִשְׁכַּ֣תbe.lish.KatH3957of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of our Godאֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430, wasalliedקָר֖וֹבka.RovH7138unto Tobiahלְטוֹבִיָּֽה׃le.toi.YahH2900:
