25And it came to pass the same nightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915,that the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Takeקַ֤חkachH3947thy father’sלְאָבִ֔יךָle.'a.Vi.khaH1youngפַּר־par-H6499bullockהַשּׁוֹר֙ha.shOrH7794,even the secondהַשֵּׁנִ֖יha.she.NiH8145bullockוּפַ֥רu.FarH6499of sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651years oldשָׁנִ֑יםsha.NimH8141,and throw downוְהָרַסְתָּ֗ve.ha.ras.TaH2040the altarמִזְבַּ֤חmiz.BachH4196of Baalהַבַּ֙עַל֙ha.Ba.'alH1168that thy fatherלְאָבִ֔יךָle.'a.Vi.khaH1hath, and cut downתִּכְרֹֽת׃tikh.RotH3772the groveהָאֲשֵׁרָ֥הha.'a.she.RahH842that is by it:

26And buildוּבָנִ֨יתָu.va.Ni.taH1129an altarמִזְבֵּ֜חַmiz.Be.achH4196unto the Lordלַיהוָ֣הla.Yah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430upon the topרֹ֧אשׁroshH7218of this rockהַמָּע֛וֹזha.ma.'ozH4581,in the ordered placeבַּמַּֽעֲרָכָ֑הba.ma.'a.ra.KhahH4634,and takeוְלָֽקַחְתָּ֙ve.la.kach.TaH3947the secondהַשֵּׁנִ֔יha.she.NiH8145bullockהַפָּ֣רha.ParH6499,and offerוְהַעֲלִ֣יתָve.ha.'a.Li.taH5927a burnt sacrificeעוֹלָ֔הo.LahH5930with the woodבַּעֲצֵ֥יba.'a.TzeiH6086of the groveהָאֲשֵׁרָ֖הha.'a.she.RahH842which thou shalt cut downתִּכְרֹֽת׃tikh.RotH3772.

27Then Gideonגִּדְע֜וֹןgid.'onH1439tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947tenעֲשָׂרָ֤ה'a.sa.RahH6235menאֲנָשִׁים֙'a.na.ShimH582of his servantsמֵֽעֲבָדָ֔יוme.'a.va.DavH5650,and didוַיַּ֕עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213as the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068had saidדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696unto him: and soit was, because he fearedיָרֵא֩ya.Re'H3372his father’sאָבִ֜יו'a.VivH1householdבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004,and the menאַנְשֵׁ֥י'an.SheiH582of the cityהָעִ֛ירha.'IrH5892,that he could not doמֵעֲשׂ֥וֹתme.'a.SotH6213itby dayיוֹמָ֖םyo.MamH3119,that he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213itby nightלָֽיְלָה׃La.ye.lahH3915.

28And when the menאַנְשֵׁ֤י'an.SheiH582of the cityהָעִיר֙ha.'IrH5892arose earlyוַיַּשְׁכִּ֜ימוּvai.yash.Ki.muH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֔קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242,behold, the altarמִזְבַּ֣חmiz.BachH4196of Baalהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168was cast downנֻתַּץ֙nu.TatzH5422,and the groveוְהָאֲשֵׁרָ֥הve.ha.'a.she.RahH842was cut downכֹּרָ֑תָהko.Ra.tahH3772that wasby it, and the secondהַשֵּׁנִ֔יha.she.NiH8145bullockהַפָּ֣רha.ParH6499was offeredהֹֽעֲלָ֔הho.'a.LahH5927upon the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196that wasbuiltהַבָּנֽוּי׃ha.ba.NuiH1129.

29And they saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376to anotherרֵעֵ֔הוּre.'E.huH7453,Who hath doneעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213this thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697?And when they enquiredוַֽיִּדְרְשׁוּ֙vai.yid.re.ShuH1875and askedוַיְבַקְשׁ֔וּvay.vak.ShuH1245,they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559,Gideonגִּדְעוֹן֙gid.'OnH1439the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Joashיוֹאָ֔שׁyo.'AshH3101hath doneעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213this thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697.

30Then the menאַנְשֵׁ֤י'an.SheiH582of the cityהָעִיר֙ha.'IrH5892saidוַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559unto Joashיוֹאָ֔שׁyo.'AshH3101,Bring outהוֹצֵ֥אho.Tze'H3318thy sonבִּנְךָ֖bin.KhaH1121,that he may dieוְיָמֹ֑תve.ya.MotH4191:because he hath cast downנָתַץ֙na.TatzH5422the altarמִזְבַּ֣חmiz.BachH4196of Baalהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168,and because he hath cut downכָרַ֖תkha.RatH3772the groveהָאֲשֵׁרָ֥הha.'a.she.RahH842that was by it.

31And Joashיוֹאָ֡שׁyo.'AshH3101saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto all that stoodעָמְד֨וּ'a.me.DuH5975against him, Will ye pleadתְּרִיב֣וּןte.ri.VunH7378for Baalלַבַּ֗עַלla.Ba.'alH1168?will ye saveתּוֹשִׁיע֣וּןto.shi.'UnH3467him? he that will pleadיָרִ֥יבya.RivH7378for him, let him be put to deathיוּמַ֖תyu.MatH4191whilst it is yetmorningהַבֹּ֑קֶרha.Bo.kerH1242: if he bea godאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430,let him pleadיָ֣רֶבYa.revH7378for himself, because onehath cast downנָתַ֖ץna.TatzH5422his altarמִזְבְּחֽוֹ׃miz.be.ChoH4196.

32Therefore on that dayבַיּוֹם־vai.yom-H3117he calledוַיִּקְרָא־vai.yik.ra'-H7121him Jerubbaalיְרֻבַּ֣עַלye.ru.Ba.'alH3378,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Let Baalהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168pleadיָ֤רֶבYa.revH7378against him, because he hath thrown downנָתַ֖ץna.TatzH5422his altarמִזְבְּחֽוֹ׃ פmiz.be.ChoH4196.

33Then all the Midianitesמִדְיָ֧ןmid.YanH4080and the Amalekitesוַעֲמָלֵ֛קva.'a.ma.LekH6002and the childrenוּבְנֵי־u.ve.nei-H1121of the eastקֶ֖דֶםKe.demH6924were gatheredנֶאֶסְפ֣וּne.'es.FuH622togetherיַחְדָּ֑וyach.DavH3162,and went overוַיַּעַבְר֥וּvai.ya.'av.RuH5674,and pitchedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in the valleyבְּעֵ֥מֶקbe.'E.mekH6010of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃yiz.re.'ElH3157.

34But the Spiritוְר֣וּחַve.Ru.achH7307of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068cameלָבְשָׁ֖הla.ve.ShahH3847upon Gideonגִּדְע֑וֹןgid.'onH1439,and he blewוַיִּתְקַע֙vai.yit.Ka'H8628a trumpetבַּשּׁוֹפָ֔רba.sho.FarH7782;and Abi–ezerאֲבִיעֶ֖זֶר'a.vi.'E.zerH44was gatheredוַיִזָּעֵ֥קvai.yi.za.'EkH2199afterאַחֲרָֽיו׃'a.cha.RavH310him.

35And he sentשָׁלַ֣חsha.LachH7971messengersוּמַלְאָכִים֙u.mal.'a.KhimH4397throughout all Manassehמְנַשֶּׁ֔הme.na.ShehH4519;who also was gatheredוַיִזָּעֵ֥קvai.yi.za.'EkH2199afterאַחֲרָ֑יו'a.cha.RavH310him: and he sentשָׁלַ֗חsha.LachH7971messengersוּמַלְאָכִ֣יםu.mal.'a.KhimH4397unto Asherבְּאָשֵׁ֤רbe.'a.SherH836,and unto Zebulunוּבִזְבֻלוּן֙u.viz.vu.LunH2074,and unto Naphtaliוּבְנַפְתָּלִ֔יu.ve.naf.ta.LiH5321;and they came upוַֽיַּעֲל֖וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927to meetH7125them.

36And Gideonגִּדְע֖וֹןgid.'onH1439saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,If thou wiltיֶשְׁךָ֞yesh.KhaH3426saveמוֹשִׁ֧יעַmo.Shi.a'H3467Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478by mine handבְּיָדִ֛יbe.ya.DiH3027,as thou hast saidדִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃di.Bar.taH1696,

37Behold, I will putמַצִּ֛יגma.TzigH3322a fleeceגִּזַּ֥תgi.ZatH1492of woolהַצֶּ֖מֶרha.Tze.merH6785in the floorבַּגֹּ֑רֶןba.Go.renH1637; andif the dewטַל֩talH2919be on the fleeceהַגִּזָּ֜הha.gi.ZahH1492only, and it bedryחֹ֔רֶבCho.revH2721upon all the earthהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776beside,then shall I knowוְיָדַעְתִּ֗יve.ya.da'.TiH3045that thou wilt saveתוֹשִׁ֧יעַto.Shi.a'H3467Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478by mine handבְּיָדִ֛יbe.ya.DiH3027,as thou hast saidדִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃di.Bar.taH1696.

38And it was so: for he rose up earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּם֙vai.yash.KemH7925on the morrowמִֽמָּחֳרָ֔תmi.mo.cho.RatH4283,and thrustH2115the fleeceהַגִּזָּ֑הha.gi.ZahH1492togetherH2115,and wringedוַיִּ֤מֶץvai.Yi.metzH4680the dewטַל֙talH2919out of the fleeceהַגִּזָּ֔הha.gi.ZahH1492,a bowlהַסֵּ֖פֶלha.Se.felH5602fullמְל֥וֹאme.Lo'H4393of waterמָֽיִם׃Ma.yimH4325.

39And Gideonגִּדְעוֹן֙gid.'OnH1439saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Godהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,Let not thine angerאַפְּךָ֙'a.pe.KhaH639be hotיִ֤חַרYi.charH2734against me, and I will speakוַאֲדַבְּרָ֖הva.'a.da.be.RahH1696but this onceהַפָּ֑עַםha.Pa.'amH6471:let me proveאֲנַסֶּ֤ה'a.na.SehH5254,I pray thee, but this onceהַפַּ֙עַם֙ha.Pa.'amH6471with the fleeceבַּגִּזָּ֔הba.gi.ZahH1492;let it now be dryחֹ֤רֶבCho.revH2721only upon the fleeceהַגִּזָּה֙ha.gi.ZahH1492,and upon all the groundהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776let there be dewטָּֽל׃TalH2919.
