19And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was with Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063;and he drave outוַיֹּ֖רֶשׁvai.Yo.reshH3423the inhabitants ofthe mountainהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022;but could notלֹ֤אlo'H3808drive outלְהוֹרִישׁ֙le.ho.RishH3423the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the valleyהָעֵ֔מֶקha.'E.mekH6010,because they had chariotsרֶ֥כֶבRe.khevH7393of ironבַּרְזֶ֖לbar.ZelH1270.

20And they gaveוַיִּתְּנ֤וּvai.yi.te.NuH5414Hebronחֶבְר֔וֹןchev.RonH2275unto Calebלְכָלֵב֙le.kha.LevH3612,as Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872saidדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696:and he expelledוַיּ֣וֹרֶשׁvai.Yo.reshH3423thence the threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֖הshe.lo.ShahH7969sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Anakהָעֲנָֽק׃ha.'a.NakH6061.

21And the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֑ןvin.ya.MinH1144did not drive outהוֹרִ֖ישׁוּho.Ri.shuH3423the Jebusitesהַיְבוּסִי֙hay.vu.SiH2983that inhabitedיֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427Jerusalemיְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389;but the Jebusitesהַיְבוּסִ֜יhay.vu.SiH2983dwellוַיֵּ֨שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427with the childrenבְּנֵ֤יbe.NeiH1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִן֙vin.ya.MinH1144in Jerusalemבִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םbi.Ru.sha.LimH3389unto this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

22And the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of Josephיוֹסֵ֛ףyo.SefH3130,they also went upוַיַּעֲל֧וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927against Beth–elH1008:and the Lordוַֽיהוָ֖הva.Yah.wehH3068was with them.

23And the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of Josephיוֹסֵ֖ףyo.SefH3130sent to descryוַיָּתִ֥ירוּvai.ya.Ti.ruH8446Beth–elH1008. (Now the nameוְשֵׁם־ve.shem-H8034of the cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892beforeלְפָנִ֖יםle.fa.NimH6440wasLuzלֽוּז׃LuzH3870.)

24And the spiesהַשֹּׁ֣מְרִ֔יםha.Sho.me.RimH8104sawוַיִּרְאוּ֙vai.yir.'UH7200a manאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376come forthיוֹצֵ֣אyo.Tze'H3318out of the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,and they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559unto him, Shewהַרְאֵ֤נוּhar.'E.nuH7200us, we pray thee, the entranceמְב֣וֹאme.Vo'H3996into the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,and we will shewוְעָשִׂ֥ינוּve.'a.Si.nuH6213thee mercyחָֽסֶד׃Cha.sedH2617.

25And when he shewedוַיַּרְאֵם֙vai.yar.'EmH7200them the entranceמְב֣וֹאme.Vo'H3996into the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,they smoteוַיַּכּ֥וּvai.ya.KuH5221the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחָ֑רֶבCha.revH2719;but they let goשִׁלֵּֽחוּ׃shi.Le.chuH7971the manהָאִ֥ישׁha.'IshH376and all his familyמִשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹmish.pach.ToH4940.

26And the manהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376wentH3212into the landאֶ֖רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Hittitesהַחִתִּ֑יםha.chi.TimH2850,and builtוַיִּ֣בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129a cityעִ֗יר'IrH5892,and calledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121the nameשְׁמָהּ֙she.MahH8034thereof Luzל֔וּזLuzH3870: which isthe nameשְׁמָ֔הּshe.MahH8034thereof unto this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

27Neither did Manassehמְנַשֶּׁ֗הme.na.ShehH4519drive outהוֹרִ֣ישׁho.RishH3423the inhabitants ofBeth–sheanH1052and her townsבְּנוֹתֶיהָ֮be.no.tei.HaH1323,nor Taanachתַּעְנַ֣ךְta'.NakhH8590and her townsבְּנֹתֶיהָ֒be.no.tei.HaH1323,nor the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֨יyo.shevH3427of Dorד֜וֹרDorH1756and her townsבְּנוֹתֶ֗יהָbe.no.Tei.haH1323,nor the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֤יyo.she.VeiH3427of Ibleamיִבְלְעָם֙yiv.le.'AmH2991and her townsבְּנֹתֶ֔יהָbe.no.Tei.haH1323,nor the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֥יyo.she.VeiH3427of Megiddoמְגִדּ֖וֹme.gi.DoH4023and her townsבְּנוֹתֶ֑יהָbe.no.Tei.haH1323:but the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669wouldוַיּ֙וֹאֶל֙vai.Yo.'elH2974dwellלָשֶׁ֖בֶתla.She.vetH3427in that landבָּאָ֥רֶץba.'A.retzH776.

28And it came to pass, when Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478was strongחָזַ֣קcha.ZakH2388,that they putוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669to tributeלָמַ֑סla.MasH4522,and did not utterlyוְהוֹרֵ֖ישׁve.ho.ReishH3423drive them outהוֹרִישֽׁוֹ׃ סho.ri.ShoH3423.

29Neither did Ephraimוְאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ve.'ef.Ra.yimH669drive outהוֹרִ֔ישׁho.RishH3423the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669that dweltהַיּוֹשֵׁ֣בhai.yo.ShevH3427in Gezerבְּגָ֑זֶרbe.Ga.zerH1507;but the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֛יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669dweltוַיֵּ֧שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in Gezerבְּגָֽזֶר׃ פbe.Ga.zerH1507amongבְּקִרְבּ֖וֹbe.kir.BoH7130them.

30Neither did Zebulunזְבוּלֻ֗ןze.vu.LunH2074drive outהוֹרִישׁ֙ho.RishH3423the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Kitronקִטְר֔וֹןkit.RonH7003,nor the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of Nahalolנַהֲלֹ֑לna.ha.LolH5096;but the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669dweltוַיֵּ֤שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427amongבְּקִרְבּ֔וֹbe.kir.BoH7130them, and became tributariesלָמַֽס׃ סla.MasH4522.

31Neither did Asherאָשֵׁ֗ר'a.SherH836drive outהוֹרִישׁ֙ho.RishH3423the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Acchoעַכּ֔וֹa.KoH5910,nor the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of Zidonצִיד֑וֹןtzi.DonH6721,nor of Ahlabאַחְלָ֤ב'ach.LavH303,nor of Achzibאַכְזִיב֙'akh.ZivH392,nor of Helbahחֶלְבָּ֔הchel.BahH2462,nor of Aphikאֲפִ֖יק'a.FikH663,nor of Rehobרְחֹֽב׃re.ChoH7340:

32But the Asheritesהָאָ֣שֵׁרִ֔יha.'A.she.RiH843dweltוַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙vai.Ye.shevH3427amongבְּקֶ֥רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669,the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776:for they did not drive them outהוֹרִישֽׁוֹ׃ סho.ri.ShoH3423.

33Neither did Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִ֗יnaf.ta.LiH5321drive outהוֹרִ֞ישׁho.RishH3423the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֤יyo.she.VeiH3427of Beth–shemeshH1053,nor the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Beth–anathH1043;but he dweltוַיֵּ֕שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427amongבְּקֶ֥רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669,the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776:nevertheless the inhabitantsוְיֹשְׁבֵ֤יve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Beth–shemeshH1053and of Beth–anathH1043became tributariesלָמַֽס׃ סla.MasH4522unto them.

34And the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֛יha.'e.mo.RiH567forcedוַיִּלְחֲצ֧וּvai.yil.cha.TzuH3905the childrenבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Danדָ֖ןdanH1835into the mountainהָהָ֑רָהha.Ha.rahH2022:for they would not sufferנְתָנ֖וֹne.ta.NoH5414them to come downלָרֶ֥דֶתla.Re.detH3381to the valleyלָעֵֽמֶק׃la.'E.mekH6010:

35But the Amoritesהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ha.'e.mo.RiH567wouldוַיּ֤וֹאֶלvai.Yo.'elH2974dwellלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427in mountבְּהַר־be.har-H2022Heresחֶ֔רֶסChe.resH2776in Aijalonבְּאַיָּל֖וֹןbe.'ai.ya.LonH357,and in Shaalbimוּבְשַֽׁעַלְבִ֑יםu.ve.sha.'al.VimH8169:yet the handיַ֣דyadH3027of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of Josephיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3130prevailedוַתִּכְבַּד֙va.tikh.BadH3513,so that they became tributariesלָמַֽס׃la.MasH4522.

36And the coastוּגְבוּל֙u.ge.VulH1366of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567wasfrom the going upמִֽמַּעֲלֵ֖הmi.ma.'a.LehH4608to Akrabbimעַקְרַבִּ֑ים'ak.ra.BimH4610,from the rockH5553,and upwardוָמָֽעְלָה׃ פva.Ma.'e.lahH4605.
