1Again there was a dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117when the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430cameוַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙vai.ya.Vo.'uH935to presentלְהִתְיַצֵּ֖בle.hit.ya.TzevH3320themselves before the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and Satanהַשָּׂטָן֙ha.sa.TanH7854cameוַיָּב֤וֹאvai.ya.Vo'H935also amongבְּתֹכָ֔םbe.to.KhamH8432them to presentלְהִתְיַצֵּ֖בle.hit.ya.TzevH3320himself before the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

2And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Satanהַשָּׂטָ֔ןha.sa.TanH7854,From whenceאֵ֥י'eiH335comestתָּבֹ֑אta.Vo'H935thou? And Satanהַשָּׂטָ֤ןha.sa.TanH7854answeredוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559,From going to and froמִשֻּׁ֣טmi.ShutH7751in the earthבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776,and from walking up and downוּמֵהִתְהַלֵּ֖ךְu.me.hit.ha.LekhH1980in it.

3And the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Satanהַשָּׂטָ֗ןha.sa.TanH7854,Hast thouהֲשַׂ֣מְתָּha.Sam.taH7760consideredלִבְּךָ֮li.be.KhaH3820my servantעַבְדִּ֣י'av.DiH5650Jobאִיּוֹב֒'i.yOvH347, that there isnone like him in the earthבָּאָ֗רֶץba.'A.retzH776,a perfectתָּ֧םtamH8535and an uprightוְיָשָׁ֛רve.ya.SharH3477manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376,one that fearethיְרֵ֥אye.Re'H3373Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430,and eschewethוְסָ֣רve.SarH5493evilמֵרָ֑עme.Ra'H7451?and still he holdeth fastמַחֲזִ֣יקma.cha.ZikH2388his integrityבְּתֻמָּת֔וֹbe.tu.ma.ToH8538,although thou movedstוַתְּסִיתֵ֥נִיva.te.si.Te.niH5496me against him, to destroyלְבַלְּע֥וֹle.va.le.'OH1104him without causeחִנָּֽם׃chi.NamH2600.

4And Satanהַשָּׂטָ֛ןha.sa.TanH7854answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559,Skinע֣וֹרorH5785for skinע֗וֹרorH5785,yea, all that a manלָאִ֔ישׁla.'IshH376hath will he giveיִתֵּ֖ןyi.TenH5414for his lifeנַפְשֽׁוֹ׃naf.ShoH5315.

5Butאוּלָם֙'u.LamH199put forthשְֽׁלַֽח־she.lach-H7971thine handיָֽדְךָ֔ya.de.KhaH3027now, and touchוְגַ֥עve.Ga'H5060his boneעַצְמ֖וֹatz.MoH6106and his fleshבְּשָׂר֑וֹbe.sa.RoH1320,and he will curseיְבָרֲכֶֽךָּ׃ye.va.ra.Khe.kaH1288thee to thy faceפָּנֶ֖יךָpa.Nei.khaH6440.
