23And the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֔יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064undertookוְקִבֵּל֙ve.ki.BelH6901to doלַעֲשׂ֑וֹתla.'a.SotH6213as they had begunהֵחֵ֖לּוּhe.Che.luH2490,and as Mordecaiמָרְדֳּכַ֖יma.re.do.KhaiH4782had writtenכָּתַ֥בka.TavH3789unto them;

24Because Hamanהָמָ֨ןha.ManH2001the sonבֶּֽן־ben-H1121of Hammedathaהַמְּדָ֜תָאha.me.Da.ta'H4099,the Agagiteהָֽאֲגָגִ֗יha.'a.ga.GiH91,the enemyצֹרֵר֙tzo.RerH6887of all the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֔יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064,had devisedחָשַׁ֥בcha.ShavH2803against the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֖יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064to destroyלְאַבְּדָ֑םle.'a.be.DamH6them, and had castוְהִפִּ֥ילve.hi.PilH5307Purפּוּר֙purH6332, that is,the lotהַגּוֹרָ֔לha.go.RalH1486,to consumeלְהֻמָּ֖םle.hu.MamH2000them, and to destroyוּֽלְאַבְּדָֽם׃U.le.'a.be.DamH6them;

25But when Esthercameוּבְבֹאָהּ֮u.ve.vo.'AhH935beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the kingהַמֶּלֶךְ֒ha.me.leKhH4428,he commandedאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559by lettersהַסֵּ֔פֶרha.Se.ferH5612that his wickedהָרָעָ֛הha.ra.'AhH7451deviceמַחֲשַׁבְתּ֧וֹma.cha.shav.ToH4284,which he devisedחָשַׁ֥בcha.ShavH2803against the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֖יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064,should returnיָשׁ֞וּבya.ShuvH7725upon his own headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218,and that he and his sonsבָּנָ֖יוba.NavH1121should be hangedוְתָל֥וּve.ta.LuH8518on the gallowsהָעֵֽץ׃ha.'EtzH6086.

26Wherefore they calledקָֽרְאוּ֩ka.re.'UH7121these daysלַיָּמִ֨יםlai.ya.MimH3117Purimפוּרִים֙fu.RimH6332after the nameשֵׁ֣םshemH8034of Purהַפּ֔וּרha.PurH6332.Therefore for all the wordsדִּבְרֵ֖יdiv.ReiH1697of this letterהָאִגֶּ֣רֶתha.'i.Ge.retH107, and of thatwhich they had seenרָא֣וּra.'UH7200concerning this matterכָּ֔כָהKa.khahH3602,and which had comeהִגִּ֖יעַhi.Gi.a'H5060unto them,

27The Jewsהַיְּהוּדִים֩׀hai.ye.hu.DimH3064ordainedקִיְּמ֣וּki.ye.MuH6965,and tookוְקִבְּל֣וּve.ki.belH6901upon them, and upon their seedזַרְעָ֜םzar.'AmH2233,and upon all such as joinedהַנִּלְוִ֤יםha.nil.VimH3867themselves unto them, so as it should not failיַעֲב֔וֹרya.'a.VorH5674,that they would keepעֹשִׂ֗ים'o.SimH6213these twoשְׁנֵ֤יshe.NeiH8147daysהַיָּמִים֙hai.ya.MimH3117according to their writingכִּכְתָבָ֖םkikh.ta.VamH3791, and according to their appointedtimeוְכִזְמַנָּ֑םve.khiz.ma.NamH2165every yearH8141;

28And thatthese daysוְהַיָּמִ֣יםve.hai.ya.MimH3117should berememberedנִזְכָּרִ֨יםniz.ka.RimH2142and keptוְנַעֲשִׂ֜יםve.na.'a.SimH6213throughoutדּ֣וֹרDorH1755every generationוָד֗וֹרva.DorH1755,every familyH4940,every provinceH4082,and every cityH5892; and thatthese daysוִימֵ֞יvi.MeiH3117of Purimהַפּוּרִ֣יםha.pu.RimH6332should not failיַֽעַבְרוּ֙ya.'av.RuH5674from amongמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֔יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064,nor the memorialוְזִכְרָ֖םve.zikh.RamH2143of them perishיָס֥וּףya.SufH5486from their seedמִזַּרְעָֽם׃ סmi.zar.'AmH2233.
