7Unto whom the princeשַׂ֥רsarH8269of the eunuchsהַסָּרִיסִ֖יםha.sa.ri.SimH5631gaveוַיָּ֧שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760namesשֵׁמ֑וֹתshe.MotH8034:for he gaveוַיָּ֨שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760unto Danielלְדָֽנִיֵּ֜אלle.da.ni.YelH1840the nameof Belteshazzarבֵּ֣לְטְשַׁאצַּ֗רbe.le.te.sha.TzarH1095;and to Hananiahוְלַֽחֲנַנְיָה֙ve.la.cha.nan.YahH2608,of Shadrachשַׁדְרַ֔ךְshad.RakhH7714;and to Mishaelוּלְמִֽישָׁאֵ֣לu.le.mi.sha.'ElH4332,of Meshachמֵישַׁ֔ךְmei.ShakhH4335;and to Azariahוְלַעֲזַרְיָ֖הve.la.'a.zar.YahH5838,of Abed–negoH5664.

8But Danielדָּנִיֵּאל֙da.ni.yeLH1840purposedוַיָּ֤שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760in his heartלִבּ֔וֹli.BoH3820that he would not defileיִתְגָּאַ֛לyit.ga.'AlH1351himself with the portionH6598of the king’sהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428meatH6598,nor with the wineוּבְיֵ֣יןu.ve.YeinH3196which he drankמִשְׁתָּ֑יוmish.TavH4960:therefore he requestedוַיְבַקֵּשׁ֙vay.va.KeshH1245of the princeמִשַּׂ֣רmi.SarH8269of the eunuchsהַסָּרִיסִ֔יםha.sa.ri.SimH5631that he might not defileיִתְגָּאָֽל׃yit.ga.'AlH1351himself.
