Context of 2 Corinthians 9:15
13Your gift of money will show people that you really want to help. People will say that God is great. They will see that you want to obey God. They will see that you are happy to give to them, and to everyone else. They will see that you really believe the good news about Christ, as you say you do. 14They will want to thank you. They will pray to God for you. They will do that because they see how very kind God has been to you. Yes, we should all thank God for his very great gift. That gift is too great to describe it with words!

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 15Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift - Some contend that Christ only is here intended; others, that the almsgiving is meant. After all the difference of commentators and preachers, it is most evident that the , unspeakable gift, is precisely the same with the ̔ , superabounding grace or benefit, of the preceding verse. If therefore Jesus Christ, the gift of God s unbounded love to man, be the meaning of the unspeakable gift in this verse, he is…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 15Thanks be unto God - Whitby supposes that this refers to the charitable disposition which they had manifested, and that the sense is, that God was to be adored for the liberal spirit which they were disposed to manifest, and the aid which they were disposed to render to others. But this, it is believed, falls far below the design of the apostle. The reference is rather to the inexpressible gift which God had granted to them in bestowing his Son to die for…Read the comment
