Context of Acts 27:25
23For this very night, there came to me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve. 24He said, ‘Do not fear, Paul. You must stand before Caesar; and indeed, God has granted you all who are sailing with you.’ So take heart, men, for I trust God that it will be exactly as I have been told. 26But we must run aground on some island.” 27Now when the fourteenth night had come, as we were drifting across the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors began to sense that they were nearing some land.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-29Verses 21-29 They did not hearken to the apostle when he warned them of their danger; yet if they acknowledge their folly, and repent of it, he will speak comfort and relief to them when in danger. Most people bring themselves into trouble, because they do not know when they are well off; they come to harm and loss by aiming to mend their condition, often against advice. Observe the solemn profession Paul made of relation to God. No storms or tempests can…Read the comment
