Context of Acts 15:23
21For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” 22Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas who was also named Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren. - Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 23Send greeting unto the brethren - of the Gentiles - There was no occasion to send such a letter to the brethren which were of the Jews, because that law which had been so long read in their synagogues taught them all those things; and therefore the epistle is sent exclusively to the Gentiles. The word greeting is in the original , to be well, to be safe; a very usual form in Greek epistles, the word being understood, I wish thee to be well.Read the comment
