1And the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669gathered themselves togetherוַיִּצָּעֵק֙vai.yi.tza.'EkH6817,and wentוַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674northwardצָפ֑וֹנָהtza.Fo.nahH6828,and saidוַיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto Jephthahלְיִפְתָּ֜חle.yif.TachH3316,Wherefore passedst thou overעָבַ֣רְתָּ׀'a.Var.taH5674to fightלְהִלָּחֵ֣םle.hi.la.ChemH3898against the childrenבִּבְנֵי־biv.nei-H1121of Ammonעַמּ֗וֹןa.MonH5983,and didst not callקָרָ֙אתָ֙ka.Ra.taH7121us to goH3212with thee? we will burnנִשְׂרֹ֥ףnis.RofH8313thine houseבֵּיתְךָ֕bei.te.KhaH1004upon thee with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ba.'EshH784.

2And Jephthahיִפְתָּח֙yif.TachH3316saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, I and my peopleוְעַמִּ֥יve.'a.MiH5971wereהָיִ֛יתִיha.Yi.tiH1961at greatמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966strifeאִ֣ישׁ רִ֗יב'ish RivH7379 H376with the childrenוּבְנֵֽי־u.ve.nei-H1121of Ammonעַמּ֖וֹןa.MonH5983;and when I calledוָאֶזְעַ֣קva.'ez.'AkH2199you, ye deliveredהוֹשַׁעְתֶּ֥םho.sha'.TemH3467me not out of their handsמִיָּדָֽם׃mi.ya.DamH3027.

3And when I sawוָֽאֶרְאֶ֞הva.'er.'EhH7200that ye deliveredמוֹשִׁ֗יעmo.Shi.a'H3467menot, I putוָאָשִׂ֨ימָהva.'a.Si.mahH7760my lifeנַפְשִׁ֤יnaf.ShiH5315in my handsבְכַפִּי֙ve.kha.PiH3709,and passed overוָֽאֶעְבְּרָה֙va.'e'.be.RahH5674against the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּ֔וֹןa.MonH5983,and the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068deliveredוַיִּתְּנֵ֥םvai.yi.te.NemH5414them into my handבְּיָדִ֑יbe.ya.DiH3027:wherefore then are ye come upעֲלִיתֶ֥ם'a.li.TemH5927unto me this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117,to fightלְהִלָּ֥חֶםle.hi.La.chemH3898against me?

4Then Jephthahיִפְתָּח֙yif.TachH3316gathered togetherוַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץvai.yik.BotzH6908all the menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582of Gileadגִלְעָ֔דgil.'AdH1568,and foughtוַיִּלָּ֖חֶםvai.yi.La.chemH3898with Ephraimאֶפְרָ֑יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669:and the menאַנְשֵׁ֨י'an.SheiH582of Gileadגִלְעָ֜דgil.'AdH1568smoteוַיַּכּוּ֩vai.ya.KuH5221Ephraimאֶפְרַ֗יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,because they saidאָמְרוּ֙'a.me.RuH559,Ye Gileaditesגִּלְעָ֕דgil.'AdH1568arefugitivesפְּלִיטֵ֤יpe.li.TeiH6412of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙'ef.Ra.yimH669amongבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the Ephraimitesאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669, andamongבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the Manassitesמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃me.na.ShehH4519.

5And the Gileaditesגִּלְעָ֛דgil.'AdH1568tookוַיִּלְכֹּ֥דvai.yil.KodH3920the passagesמַעְבְּר֥וֹתma'.be.RotH4569of Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןhai.yar.DenH3383before the Ephraimitesלְאֶפְרָ֑יִםle.'ef.Ra.yimH669: and it was so,that when those Ephraimitesאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙'ef.Ra.yimH669which were escapedפְּלִיטֵ֤יpe.li.TeiH6412saidיֹאמְר֞וּyo.me.RuH559,Let me go overאֶעֱבֹ֔רָה'e.'e.Vo.rahH5674;that the menאַנְשֵֽׁי־'an.shei-H582of Gileadגִלְעָ֛דgil.'AdH1568saidוַיֹּ֨אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559unto him, Artthou an Ephraimiteהַֽאֶפְרָתִ֥יha.'ef.ra.TiH673?If he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶֽר׀vai.Yo.merH559, Nay;
