1Blowתִּקְע֨וּtik.'UH8628ye the trumpetשׁוֹפָ֜רsho.FarH7782in Zionבְּצִיּ֗וֹןbe.tzi.YonH6726,and sound an alarmוְהָרִ֙יעוּ֙ve.ha.Ri.'uH7321in my holyקָדְשִׁ֔יkod.shiH6944mountainבְּהַ֣רbe.HarH2022:let all the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776trembleיִרְגְּז֕וּyir.ge.ZuH7264:for the dayיוֹם־yom-H3117of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068comethבָ֥אva'H935, for it isnigh at handקָרֽוֹב׃ka.RovH7138;

2A dayי֧וֹםYomH3117of darknessחֹ֣שֶׁךְCho.shekhH2822and of gloominessוַאֲפֵלָ֗הva.'a.fe.LahH653,a dayי֤וֹםYomH3117of cloudsעָנָן֙'a.NanH6051and of thick darknessוַעֲרָפֶ֔לva.'a.ra.FelH6205,as the morningכְּשַׁ֖חַרke.Sha.charH7837spreadפָּרֻ֣שׂpa.RusH6566upon the mountainsהֶֽהָרִ֑יםhe.ha.RimH2022:a greatרַ֣בravH7227peopleעַ֚ם'amH5971and a strongוְעָצ֔וּםve.'a.TzumH6099;there hath not beenנִֽהְיָה֙nih.YahH1961everהָ֣עוֹלָ֔םha.'o.LamH5769the like, neither shall be any moreיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3254afterוְאַֽחֲרָיו֙ve.'a.cha.RavH310it, evento the yearsשְׁנֵ֖יshe.NeiH8141of manyדּ֥וֹרDorH1755generationsוָדֽוֹר׃va.DorH1755.

3A fireאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784devourethאָ֣כְלָה'A.khe.lahH398beforeלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440them; and behindוְאַחֲרָ֖יוve.'a.cha.RavH310them a flameלֶֽהָבָ֑הle.ha.VahH3852burnethתְּלַהֵ֣טte.la.HetH3857:the landהָאָ֜רֶץha.'A.retzH776isas the gardenכְּגַן־ke.gan-H1588of Edenעֵ֨דֶן'E.denH5731beforeלְפָנָ֗יוle.fa.NavH6440them, and behindוְאַֽחֲרָיו֙ve.'a.cha.RavH310them a desolateשְׁמָמָ֔הshe.ma.MahH8077wildernessמִדְבַּ֣רmid.BarH4057;yea, and nothing shall escapeפְּלֵיטָ֖הpe.lei.TahH6413them.

4The appearanceכְּמַרְאֵ֥הke.mar.'EhH4758of them isas the appearanceמַרְאֵ֑הוּmar.'E.huH4758of horsesסוּסִ֖יםsu.SimH5483;and as horsemenוּכְפָרָשִׁ֖יםu.khe.fa.ra.ShimH6571,so shall they runיְרוּצֽוּן׃ye.ru.TzunH7323.

5Like the noiseכְּק֣וֹלke.KolH6963of chariotsמַרְכָּב֗וֹתmar.ka.VotH4818on the topsרָאשֵׁ֤יra.SheiH7218of mountainsהֶֽהָרִים֙he.ha.RimH2022shall they leapיְרַקֵּד֔וּןye.ra.ke.DunH7540,like the noiseכְּקוֹל֙ke.kOlH6963of a flameלַ֣הַבLa.havH3851of fireאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784that devourethאֹכְלָ֖ה'o.khe.LahH398the stubbleקָ֑שׁKashH7179,as a strongעָצ֔וּם'a.TzumH6099peopleכְּעַ֣םke.'AmH5971set in battleמִלְחָמָֽה׃mil.cha.MahH4421arrayעֱר֖וּךְ'e.RukhH6186.

6Before their faceמִפָּנָ֖יוmi.pa.NavH6440the peopleעַמִּ֑ים'a.MimH5971shall be much painedיָחִ֣ילוּya.Chi.luH2342:all facesפָּנִ֖יםpa.NimH6440shall gatherקִבְּצ֥וּki.be.TzuH6908blacknessפָארֽוּר׃fa.RurH6289.

7They shall runיְרֻצ֔וּןye.ru.TzunH7323like mighty menכְּגִבּוֹרִ֣יםke.gi.bo.RimH1368;they shall climbיַעֲל֣וּya.'a.LuH5927the wallחוֹמָ֑הcho.MahH2346like menכְּאַנְשֵׁ֥יke.'an.SheiH582of warמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421;and they shall marchH3212every oneוְאִ֤ישׁve.'IshH376on his waysבִּדְרָכָיו֙bid.ra.KhavH1870,and they shall not breakיְעַבְּט֖וּןye.'a.be.TunH5670their ranksאֹרְחוֹתָֽם׃'o.re.cho.TamH734:

8Neither shall oneוְאִ֤ישׁve.'IshH376thrustיִדְחָק֔וּןyid.cha.KunH1766anotherאָחִיו֙'a.ChivH251;they shall walkH3212every oneגֶּ֥בֶרGe.verH1397in his pathבִּמְסִלָּת֖וֹbim.si.la.ToH4546: and whenthey fallיִפֹּ֖לוּyi.Po.luH5307upon the swordהַשֶּׁ֛לַחha.She.lachH7973,they shall not be woundedיִבְצָֽעוּ׃yiv.Tza.'uH1214.

9They shall run to and froיָשֹׁ֗קּוּya.Sho.kuH8264in the cityבָּעִ֣ירba.'IrH5892;they shall runיְרֻצ֔וּןye.ru.TzunH7323upon the wallבַּֽחוֹמָה֙ba.cho.MahH2346,they shall climb upיַעֲל֑וּya.'a.LuH5927upon the housesבַּבָּתִּ֖יםba.ba.TimH1004;they shall enter inיָבֹ֖אוּya.Vo.'uH935at the windowsהַחַלּוֹנִ֛יםha.cha.lo.NimH2474like a thiefכַּגַּנָּֽב׃ka.ga.NavH1590.

10The earthאֶ֔רֶץ'E.retzH776shall quakeרָ֣גְזָהRa.ge.zahH7264beforeלְפָנָיו֙le.fa.NavH6440them; the heavensשָׁמָ֑יִםsha.Ma.yimH8064shall trembleרָעֲשׁ֖וּra.'a.ShuH7493:the sunשֶׁ֤מֶשׁShe.meshH8121and the moonוְיָרֵ֙חַ֙ve.ya.Re.achH3394shall be darkקָדָ֔רוּka.Da.ruH6937,and the starsוְכוֹכָבִ֖יםve.kho.kha.VimH3556shall withdrawאָסְפ֥וּ'a.se.FuH622their shiningנָגְהָֽם׃na.ge.HamH5051:
