1Now in the twelfthוּבִשְׁנֵים֩ עָשָׂ֨רu.vish.Neim 'a.SarH6240H8147monthחֹ֜דֶשׁCho.deshH2320, that is,the monthחֹ֣דֶשׁCho.deshH2320Adarאֲדָ֗ר'a.DarH143,on the thirteenthבִּשְׁלוֹשָׁ֨ה עָשָׂ֥רbish.lo.Shah 'a.SarH6240H7969dayיוֹם֙yOmH3117of the same, when the king’sהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428commandmentדְּבַר־de.var-H1697and his decreeוְדָת֖וֹve.da.ToH1881drew nearהִגִּ֧יעַhi.Gi.a'H5060to be put in executionלְהֵעָשׂ֑וֹתle.he.'a.SotH6213,in the dayבַּיּ֗וֹםbai.YomH3117that the enemiesאֹיְבֵ֤י'o.ye.VeiH341of the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִים֙hai.ye.hu.DimH3064hopedשִׂבְּר֜וּsi.be.RuH7663to have powerלִשְׁל֣וֹטlish.LotH7980over them, (though it was turnedוְנַהֲפ֣וֹךְve.na.ha.FokhH2015to the contrary, that the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֛יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064had ruleיִשְׁלְט֧וּyish.le.TuH7980over them that hatedבְּשֹׂנְאֵיהֶֽם׃be.so.ne.'ei.HemH8130them;)
2The Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֜יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064gathered themselves togetherנִקְהֲל֨וּnik.ha.LuH6950in their citiesבְּעָרֵיהֶ֗םbe.'a.rei.HemH5892throughout all the provincesמְדִינוֹת֙me.di.nOtH4082of the kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Ahasuerusאֳחַשְׁוֵר֔וֹשׁ'o.chash.ve.Ro.oshH325,to layלִשְׁלֹ֣חַlish.Lo.achH7971handיָ֔דYadH3027on such as soughtבִּמְבַקְשֵׁ֖יbim.vak.SheiH1245their hurtרָֽעָתָ֑םra.'a.TamH7451:and no manוְאִישׁ֙ve.'IshH376could withstandעָמַ֣ד'a.MadH5975themלִפְנֵיהֶ֔םlif.nei.HemH6440;for the fearפַּחְדָּ֖םpach.DamH6343of them fellנָפַ֥לna.FalH5307upon all peopleהָעַמִּֽים׃ha.'a.MimH5971.
3And all the rulersשָׂרֵ֨יsa.ReiH8269of the provincesהַמְּדִינ֜וֹתha.me.di.NotH4082,and the lieutenantsוְהָאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנִ֣יםve.ha.'a.chash.dar.pe.NimH323,and the deputiesוְהַפַּח֗וֹתve.ha.pa.ChotH6346,and officersוְעֹשֵׂ֤י הַמְּלָאכָה֙ve.'o.Sei ha.me.la.KhahH4399H6213of the kingלַמֶּ֔לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428,helpedמְנַשְּׂאִ֖יםme.na.se.'ImH5375the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֑יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064;because the fearפַּֽחַד־pa.chad-H6343of Mordecaiמָרְדֳּכַ֖יma.re.do.KhaiH4782fellנָפַ֥לna.FalH5307upon them.
4For Mordecaiמָרְדֳּכַי֙ma.re.do.KhaiH4782wasgreatגָ֤דוֹלGa.dolH1419in the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004,and his fameוְשָׁמְע֖וֹve.sha.me.'OH8089went outהוֹלֵ֣ךְho.LekhH1980throughout all the provincesהַמְּדִינ֑וֹתha.me.di.NotH4082:for this manהָאִ֥ישׁha.'IshH376Mordecaiמָרְדֳּכַ֖יma.re.do.KhaiH4782waxedהוֹלֵ֥ךְho.LekhH1980greater and greaterH1419.
5Thus the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִים֙hai.ye.hu.DimH3064smoteוַיַּכּ֤וּvai.ya.KuH5221all their enemiesאֹ֣יְבֵיהֶ֔ם'o.ye.vei.HemH341with the strokeמַכַּת־ma.kat-H4347of the swordחֶ֥רֶבChe.revH2719,and slaughterוְהֶ֖רֶגve.He.regH2027,and destructionוְאַבְדָ֑ןve.'av.DanH12,and didוַיַּֽעֲשׂ֥וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213what they wouldכִּרְצוֹנָֽם׃kir.tzo.NamH7522unto those that hatedבְשֹׂנְאֵיהֶ֖םve.so.ne.'ei.HemH8130them.
10The tenעֲ֠שֶׂרֶת'A.se.retH6235sonsבְּנֵ֨יbe.NeiH1121of Hamanהָמָ֧ןha.ManH2001the sonבֶּֽן־ben-H1121of Hammedathaהַמְּדָ֛תָאha.me.Da.ta'H4099,the enemyצֹרֵ֥רtzo.RerH6887of the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֖יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064,slewהָרָ֑גוּha.Ra.guH2026they; but on the spoilוּבַ֨בִּזָּ֔הu.Vab.bi.ZahH961laidשָׁלְח֖וּsha.le.ChuH7971they not their handיָדָֽם׃ya.DamH3027.

16But the otherוּשְׁאָ֣רu.she.'ArH7605Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֡יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064that werein the king’sהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428provincesבִּמְדִינ֨וֹתbim.di.NotH4082gathered themselves togetherנִקְהֲל֣וּ׀nik.ha.LuH6950,and stoodוְעָמֹ֣דve.'a.ModH5975for their livesנַפְשָׁ֗םnaf.ShamH5315,and had restוְנ֙וֹחַ֙ve.No.achH5118from their enemiesמֵאֹ֣יְבֵיהֶ֔םme.'O.ye.vei.HemH341,and slewוְהָרֹג֙ve.ha.RogH2026of their foesבְּשֹׂ֣נְאֵיהֶ֔םbe.So.ne.'ei.HemH8130seventyוְשִׁבְעִ֖יםve.shiv.'ImH7657and fiveחֲמִשָּׁ֥הcha.mi.ShahH2568thousandאָ֑לֶף'A.lefH505,but they laidשָֽׁלְח֖וּsha.le.ChuH7971not their handsיָדָֽם׃ya.DamH3027on the preyוּבַ֨בִּזָּ֔הu.Vab.bi.ZahH961,
