Context of Isaiah 3:10
8Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, because what they say and what they do is against the Lord. They are defiant in his honored presence. 9The look on their faces will be held against them. They boast about their sins, which are like ⌞those of the people of⌟ Sodom. They don’t even bother to hide them. How horrible it will be for these people, because they have brought disaster on themselves. Tell the righteous that blessings will come to them. They will taste the fruit of their labor. 11How horrible it will be for the wicked! Disaster will strike them. What they have done will be done to them. 12“Children will oppress my people. Women will rule them. My people, your guides mislead you, and you don’t know which way to go.”

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10Say ye to the righteous - לצדיק letsaddik, the ל lamed is added here by one MS. and the Chaldee. The righteous is the person, Who fears God. Departs from evil. Walks according to the testimony of God. And expects and prepares for a glorious immortality. "Pronounce ye." - The reading of this verse is very dubious. The Septuagint for אמרו imru read נאסר neasor, or both, נאסר אמרו imru neasor, and לנו טוב לא כי ki lo tob lanu . , ̔ ̔ . Perhaps, for אמרו…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10Say ye to the righteous - The meaning of this verse and the following is sufficiently plain, though expositors have given some variety of interpretation. They declare a great principle of the divine administration similar to what is stated in Isaiah 1:19-20. Lowth reads it, Pronounce ye a blessing on the just; verily good (shall be to him).‘ That it shall be well - The word rendered well,‘ means good.‘ The sense evidently is, that in the divine…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-15Verses 10-15 The rule was certain; however there might be national prosperity or trouble, it would be well with the righteous and ill with the wicked. Blessed be God, there is abundant encouragement to the righteous to trust in him, and for sinners to repent and return to him. It was time for the Lord to show his might. He will call men to a strict account for all the wealth and power intrusted to and abused by them. If it is sinful to disregard the…Read the comment
